Shared a few beers with a lawyer from Chapel Hill this weekend. He had been in litigation with the school a few times. He said he expects this stuff to the real bad, and he is a grad and big fan/supporter.

Hopefully not the same lawyer BeattieFeathers is friends with

UNC isnt a powerhouse. The NCAA will tear apart weaker teams for minor things, but will let the powerhouse programs go with a slap on the wrist

I think the NCAA's selective enforcement doesn't have as much to do with the strength of the program as it does the relationships between school administrators and the NCAA COI and governing body and the level of deception that the program under investigation engaged in. USC didn't get a slap on the wrist in 2010 and what Alabama was hit with in 2002 should have been stiffer but it was definitely not a slap on the wrist; ditto Auburn in 1993.

Reopening a case is real bad news for UNC. The NCAA is a bunch of bumbling fools but they don't see themselves as that so they'll charge in like they are all righteous & perfect. UNC is not a player in FB but certainly are in BB. I think they may be in some big trouble & if they can prove Williams knew about it, they'll collapse & it'll take years to recover.

FTR, the NCAA asked/invited McCants for an interview when they first started their investigation. He declined.
