NCAA, MLB talking about increasing scholarships

The NCAA should simply require that ADs provide women with the same number of scholarships as men. Do away with the low scholarship restrictions for certain sports like baseball

It's the 11.7 rule that sucks for baseball. Title IX is not the problem.

Yeah, but that is a result of Title IX since schools would have provide a women's scholarship for every baseball scholarship. It's in place so the power house schools don't give out 27 baseball schollies and then can easily fund 27 women schollies while less funded athetic departments have fewer scholarships to give out since they can't fund the extra women's.

Title has good intenetions but the way it is applied to the NCAA has cost many programs.

If a school cannot fund the scholarships that isn't the result Title IX. The moneymaking sports are fully funded in every sense of the word. No way men's hoops needs more than 12 scholarships and no way in heck fb needs more than 85. Those sports fund every other sport at nearly every school.

What? Only about 12 school's football program makes money. How can they fund every other sport?
