NCAA Tournament Let's Be Real *First* Round: Friday Edition

Take away 2pts for stupid techs and give KSU 2pts for that tip-in and KSU is in it.

Edit: likely missed an over and back violation as well. I hope WSU doesn't get the Rupp screw in STL Sunday.

Both feet have to cross over. It was clearly half and half. I know y'all wanna bag on UK and officiating but people gotta know the rules.

Announcers suggested it was over and back due to the ball possibly crossing the line, regardless of feet. They were wrong. I thought it was all 3 points had to be across and then when they said don't worry about the feet it threw me for a loop and I rolled with them.

I don't remember the exact phrasing of the rule. But I would guess it's both feet like hardwood said.

We got away with a few calls here and there. But the refs let them play and it was ugly at times.

I know. The point is, the shot clock rule is the ball must hit the rim not just leave a shooters hand. The term shot clock in itself implies simply get a shot off "in time" yet that's not the rule. If I get the shot off in time what happens after that shouldn't matter, rim or no rim. I guess the counter to that is that players would just throw up anything and call it a shot in order to avoid a violation.

The ball must hit the rim, but it doesn't have to hit the rim before the shot clock expires.

Wow Florida fans, playing in Orlando and all those empty seats.

*Edit - Ooops, just read on Twitter there's a massive traffic jam because of a situation involving the shooting of a police officer. My apologies to Gator Nation.

How was Wilbekin SEC POY? He's not even a top 3 player on Florida.

He's one of the most important players on the best team in the league. No one else in the SEC stood out so he got it for just being a solid player.

Same argument for Donovan. Yes, Mark Fox probably could have gotten it, but going 18-0 has to be rewarded.

They couldn't have given it to someone else more deserving on the team? Prather was their best player this year (and wasn't suspended 5 games).

Wilbekin didn't even get 13 ppg or 4 apg. Think about that for a second...a pass first PG with this star-studded cast didn't even get 4 apg. That's about as mundane as it gets. Might as well call it the AJ McCarron award, but that'd be an insult to McCarron.
