If Bruce wouldn't have lied to the NCAA he would still be coaching the Tennessee Vols. It's all on him and it's his fault.
Mike Hamilton was a poor excuse for an Athletic Director and the worst one Tennessee ever hadThere is no question about that, however Hamilton and team knew the NCAA had the picture to incriminate Pearl but did not tell him in advance. They allowed Pearl to go into the meeting to hang himself. Neither one of those scenarios were the right thing to do.
Had this been at one of the blue blood schools with a successful coach the administration would have walked their coach though the situation to make sure the problem could be handled much cleaner.
Hosting a high school underclassman ( Pearl's original violation) is no longer a violation.
Guess ole Mike Hamilton thought of himself as a holy person, we see how Hamilton's tenure at UT turned out.
FYI, college basketball is a dirty game.
Kansas basketball team was flushed down the toilet when they lost their great center Azubuike for the season with a wrist injury. With him Kansas would have had a great chance to make the Final Four.
Lol, good luck with that.
I don't get the Pearl disdain. He pulled us out of mediocrity. His tenure is when everything changed forever (BP vs AP). In the end, he didn't ruin our program or our rep, he went down on a technicality, basically. I'm happy with our current coach and I think everybody else is, so what exactly are people hanging onto?
@Lawrence Wright next game up today F Roy Williams and that hillbilly Luke Maye
I felt the same way in 2014 when UF and UK made the Final Four.
I bet. Or imagine much how worse it would’ve been if Gainesville and Tallahassee were only 10 minutes from each other when you guys beat them in the Sugar Bowl. I would say 9 out of 10 people in this area don’t want to see it because there is no coming back from it. People would be more afraid of losing than winning.
