I follow lady's basketball, but not as close as I would like, due to mens bball and everything, but what is the possibility we play in Lexington if we make the ncaa ? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I plan on watching every game from now on.

I butchered the thread name, question had nothing to do with seeding, if mods could rename it to "ncaa tourney question." It would be appreciated.

I think we might be in that bracket but doubt we can get out of Louisville if that happens as we'll probably be playing Louisville on their home floor. I don't see us winning that game.
JMO I look for maybe one possibly two wins in the tourney doubt we'll make the 16 and certainly not the eight unless a miracle happens.

There are 16 locations for the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament. Games will be played at the home/campus of the top four seeds in each region. So the chances of playing in Lexington in the first two rounds would be 1 in 16. However, since Kentucky would be hosting, it is unlikely the selection committee would put another SEC team in Lexington to play against Kentucky so early in the tournament. It is possible for Tennessee to be placed in the Lexington Region and play in Lexington in the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight. The chances of that happening are 1 in 4, but Tennessee would have to win its first two games to do that. If Tennessee is one of the top 16 teams in the country, that would be a possibility.

I'm not sure if the NCAA would allow Kentucky to host the first two rounds of the tournament since they are already hosting the regional finals. Either way, I doubt Tennessee would be in Lexington for the first two rounds.

Charlie Creme has LVs as #6 seed in Lexington bracket, playing Ohio, then Louisville on their home floor. UK is #6 seed in Dallas bracket, playing Florida Gulf Coast, then FSU in Tallahassee. LVs have the talent to beat Louisville-- the question is, can they finally get it together to make a run?

In past years, Creme's early brackets have had little resemblance to the NCAA selection committee's final products. I would not put too much value on their accuracy.

If UK is deemed to be one of the top 16 teams in the nation, they will host first round action. Their later hosting a regional has no affect on the first round sites.

Have we every lost in the first round, i think we could this year.

Yes we lost in 2008 IIRC. We were a 5 seed which was the lowest we've ever been seeded I think. We got blown out by Ball St who was making their tourney debut. That was the worst Lady Vols team in recent memory until this year...

With this loss to the worst team in the league, we should be an 8 or 9 seed and on the bubble. Of course there's still time to rectify the situation, but it's looking more and more like we'd face a 1 seed in the 2nd round, if we even make it...

Were trying to get in the tourney we could still be left out after losing to the worst team in the SEC.

Charlie Crème dropped us from a 5 seed to a 7 seed. Time to move that up or down depending on how we play in the SECT.

Probably won't even make the NCAA Tournament. Every team the Lady Vols face here on out will play some sort of zone. Holly has no clue yet alone a game plan. I can see us loosing at Alabama and versus Georgia. Also, loosing the 1st round of the SEC Tournament. I hope the boosters who have power, money and influence are making a lot of noise. I wonder if all the Holly supporters are still shouting trust the process? I feel sorry for those young ladies.

Nonsense. It is almost a certainty to make the tournament.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I also think they lose @ Alabama, vs Georgia, and out in the first round of SEC tourney. If, and that's a BIG IF, they make the NCAA tourney, it's one and done. That equates to 16-15 record. SMDH...FIRE HOLLY DOOLEY WARLICK NOW!!!

If the LV lose to Bama...Holly should be left at the airport....UGA actually turned a corner and has gotten better as the season has gone on Bama is terrible but of course LSU was terrible and see how that turned out

Georgia (20-7) beat Florida yesterday. They are improving.

Georgia has been inconsistent, but they have played well their last seven games with just a 10 point to loss to SC along with six wins. Tenn beat Alabama badly earlier this year (+28) at home.

I thought the team that beat us that year was Iowa State instead of Ball State? I haven't went back to check but that was the team I thought put us out in 2008. I know Iowa State did beat us in the tourney one year but don't remember for sure if it was in the NCAA tourney in 2008.

Edit: You're right. It was Ball State in 2008. Now, I'm curious as to when it was that Iowa State put us out.

If we lose to BAMA or Georgia, or both, and lose the first or second round of the SEC tournament, what would be the point of inviting the Lady Vols to the big dance? I would rather halt the nightmare instead of further embarrassment at the hands of Cupcake State University in the first or second round of the NCAA's. We need to face reality and move on. Mr. Hart and Administration, should be trying to come up with viable options that can save this program.

I'm not sure Iowa State ever put UT out, but I do recall Iowa beating the LV in the tournament when C. V. Stringer was the head coach there.
