NCAA Tourney Running Thread

Kansas doesn't look good at all. Whoever wins this game will lose to OSU/Cuse.

Not sure how it looked on TV, but the refs would only call a foul if someone got smacked in the face

While I would tend to agree, Watford and Oladipo combined for 42 of their points and they shot 58% in the first half. UK had the game at 13 twice and didn't keep the foot down all the way. In summation:

- Kentucky's best player basically didn't play the first half.
- Their best offensive player (watford) had a season high
- IU shot 52% for the game and scored 90, and still lost by 12.

Teams are running out of ways to actually "beat" Kentucky, they have to hope for some luck. I'll be the first to say it can happen in the blink of an eye, but this tourney is Kentucky's to lose. I hate saying it, but it just feels that way.

Beat a good team without getting double digits more free throws than them. I dare you.

I can't believe how arrogant people can be after beating IU by 12 in what was supposed to be the big revenge blowout.

Glad I'm in FL.

The only fan base as bad to be around during a playoff run is the Yankees.

Or you, when UT is winning.

If you don't like some posters, there is always the "ignore" button. Makes your life much happier. I have several on my list.

This is just a case of basketball ignorance.

I'll keep it really simple for you.

The dribble drive offense's goal is to get an easy shot down low by driving to the basket. Other teams don't like to give up easy shots. Therefore, dribble driving teams tend to shoot more freethrows because they meet more opposition.

Oh, and IU started fouling with 2 whole minutes left in the game. Longest 2 minutes ever.

I'm sure it's coincidence that we have athletes (Heading to the league) who get to the rim at will and draw contract, while Indiana shoots jumpers. Or that UK shot 16 FT's in the last few minutes during the onslaught of fouls that prolonged the inevitable. Or that several fouls were on offensive rebounds where they worked harder to get the ball.

You don't have to keep explaining this to Billy Donovan.

I completely understnad Ky getting to the stripe a few more times than their opponents. But not 20, which happens on a regular basis.

Did you watch the damn game? UK shot most of the freebies in the last 2 minutes when IU started their "prolong the agony by fouling" strategy, which backfired.

The first half had pretty iffy officiating. After that I was fine with most calls/non-calls. People need to remove their bias, I suppose.

Also, predictions for today: Louisville over UF, tosu over Syracuse.

I agree. Pitino has UL finely tuned and poised for a FF showdown with the Cats (if they can beat Baylor). O$U should beat Syracuse, definitely going to be an excellent game.

I believe (and I'm sure someone will be quick to correct me if I'm not) that UK was fouled 8 times intentionally in the final two minutes - that is 16 shots that (presumably) wouldn't have happend otherwise...what exactly is your problem again?

My problem is the fact that year after year after year Kentucky gets more calls than the competition. Ask any SEC fan base. I fell asleep last night and didn't see how all 37 of the calls occurred. I probably should not have assumed --base on my 20-25 years of watching hoops--that the refs were biased. Maybe they weren't last night. But as a rule they are, and it gets freakin old.
