If this team can grind out 20 wins somehow I think they deserve to get in. Anything less is going to be a hard case.

I just think it is going to be hard to get in with that Albatross APSU loss hanging around our neck. That was one bad stretch of basketball.

The question is what is UT's record since Stokes arrived?

It's good.

And UT has played Kentucky closer (3-point loss in knoxville) than anyone but Indiana.

I agree with WiseOVol...The comm will take a hard look at the last 10 games of the season, they always do, plus the addition of Stokes changes the team from the first half the season.

If we beat everyone but maybe vandy and win a couple games in the sec tourney they will take a long look at us, but i say we dont lose again :loco:

A 5-0 finish in the regular season and a couple of wins in the tourney? Is that enough? Is it even realistic?

Amazing this is a conversation piece, at least from a December perspective. If they can pull out 20 no doubt, beat FL and UCONN, gotta get in if they get 20

Losing to Vandy at home would be an RPI wrecker. Plus the last chance at a gaurenteed top 50 RPI win. If they have to lose one it just about has to be LSU on the road. Can't lose at home or to SoCar and you don't want to be on the bubble with Bama and them having beat UT.

We got to kick the crap out of LSU. The athletics director, Joe Alleva is one of ten people on the NCAA Selection Committee. Got to leave a lasting impression on him.

At RPIforcast.com they estimate we would have a RPI of 63 if we won out the regular season.

That projected number keeps getting worse. The projection a week ago was something like 44. UCONN and Pitt's losing is not helping us. If they both continue to struggle the ceiling for UT will continue to lower as well

BTW. Beating Arky bumped UT up 6 places to 106 as of 11:00pm eastern. Beat Bama and they can get out of triple digits.

Perhaps the most important endorsement of UT as at=large team is that they don't have any weaknesses. They're not quite great, but have all the pieces and they're working together. They could actually win 1-2 games in the NCAA tournament.

Even if we win out and get to the SEC tournament championship game, we will be going to the NIT, unless we win the conference tournament.

When you lose to Austin Peay, Oakland and College of Charleston in December, these are the kind of regrets you have in March. Beating Florida twice and UConn isn't going to be enough.
