I know they have to look at the entire season, but there has to be some factor for letting hot teams in. If we continue playing like we are, no one will want to play us.

Fair enough. I don't really have anyway to argue about it since the info is gone. I'll just chalk another one up to not enough sleep.

Yea calban is spot on I remember looking as well after UGA. Easy mix up though.

Either way though, just keep winning and things will work out for us.

Looking way too far ahead but oh well:

Can you imagine if we finish season on 9 game win streak then go 2-1 in sec t, 11-1 over last 12! Finish 2nd in SEC!

People will hop on the bandwagon in the tourney, people will be calling for us to pull upsets because we're one of the hottest teams around.

That could be some big time publicity that'd be great for the program.

Man, I don't even want to think about it this soon. Sure would be nice, though. Couldn't hurt recruiting, either.

unfortunatley, our best win outside of FLA x2 is Uconn.. and incase you guys havent been paying attention, they may not even get in now..

What does that matter. Right now if we win we're win if we lose we're not. It's no longer really about big wins or bad losses at this point. We have to win 19-21.

If UT wins their last 5 regular season games, they'll be 11-5 in SEC, 19-12 overall, and winners of 9 of their last 10. If they win 2 SECT games, they're in; PERIOD! End of discussion imho

Actually 18-12, rpi and committee don't consider chaminade as a win.

12 teams all make it, 1-4 get bye, 1 game elimination, winners gets an automatic bid to tournament.

This is where those at large bids and auto come into play for tournament. An auto bid is a team that wins their conference, they are automatically in the dance.

An at large Is a team that isn't an auto obviously but is good enough to be invited to dance by committee.

There are 31 Auto bids and 37 at large. So say s Carolina won the sec tournament that'd be very bad for us. Because they take the auto bid, and now a team like UK gets an at large bid instead of the auto. The more team that take auto bids the less of a chance we have to get one, so that's why you want all your conference favorites to win their tourneys and not some small .500 team

Thanks. Much appreciated.

Cool. How many at large bids do the sec get? Or is it overall?

It varies by year, your bigger conferences usually get more than smaller and some years certain conferences are stronger and get more.

The big east set a record last year with 11 teams getting in, but this year probably will get just 8.
