ND fans are idiots.

Ah that explains all of your defensiveness and delusional talk.

Yeah those are some great teams right there. Purdue who has won 1 game this year and really should have beaten ND if it weren't for that awful coaching call at the end.

How is pointing out facts delusional? That's the argument here to everything.."oh-that's just delusional". And as a whole I don't think ND is that good, but Clausen is having a good season. It's not over yet, I'm not trying to hand him the Heisman, but up to this point his performance can only be compared to other QB's around the country who have played a similarly soft schedule and not faired nearly as well. And he can only play the teams in front of him-he didn't make the schedule. I just wonder what is enough for you people-the same folks that hated on Casey Clausen and Erik Ainge. What is satisfactory QB play for this fanbase? There's only one Peyton Manning, you all realize that, right? Is he the bar here?

That is the reason why he will not win the Heisman, nor should he even be in the mix for it.

Notre Dame made a mockery of the award once before when it was given to Paul Hornung, and I don't believe the voters will do that again.

But if they end up 10-2 or 11-1 and Jimmy keeps playing the way he is (i think he's been the best qb this year so far) then he has a serious chance.

If you knew me, you would know that I am one of the few on here that is not pro-manning. A satisfactory qb is a great one. While Clausen has made some good plays, in no way shape or form should he be considered great.

 He doesn't stand a chance against Tebow. If McCoy plays great and gets a win against OU I think it will be his rotation this year to get it, but a lot of football left to be played this year.

And I live in Charlotte as well, and that show is the reason I thank my in-laws everyday for getting me Sirius radio. That is possibly the worst sportstalk radio show in the country. Packer can't talk intelligently on more than 2 subjects-college basketball and ACC Football. He refuses to discuss the Bobcats (way to support the local team, Mark) and bashed the Panthers back when they were actually good.

Packer just calls it the way he sees it even if he ends up being wrong. Generally if he is talking trash about a team and someone disputes it he wants them to bring him proof which I can get behind. Also I'm not sure we listen to the same show buddy, Packer is pretty much right on most of the time, QCB and Hitman are the ones that don't know crap about crap.

Are you just bitter that Clausen didn't come to TN?
Yes.

Oh wait, nevermind.

Weis has been one of the biggest busts as a coach in college football in decades, Jimmy Clausen is a choke artist and Notre Dame will never regain its place among the top programs in the country. Ever.

At least they will continue to be that one program that you enjoy seeing lose big-time games once or twice a year. On one hand, their BCS bid really ought to go to a more deserving team, like the MWC champs, but on the other hand, its an annual opportunity to see the Irish get beat by 30+ which is always nice.

Mark Packer ? He's horrible . A vol hater . I like local guys to be positive about the Vols . Packer should move or find different work

No, Chief-I don't listen to it anymore. I have Sirius.

A choke artist? He has 3 come from behind victories, and almost just had a 4th-against one of the best defenses in the country (he also put up the best numbers against that defense that anyone has in about 2 years). How can anyone take what you ever say again seriously after comments like that? It's one thing to not like a college or a program, but it's another just to not have any sense.

Come from behind victories against a couple of middling teams from the Pac-10 and Big Ten.

Then the only team that matters on the Irish schedule this year comes into town, Touchdown Jesus blesses Jimmy with all the opportunities he ought to need to win the game, plus one, and he can't get it done. Scoreboard. I know ND had that game circled. That win would have put Jimmy in the Heisman discussion, saved Charlie's job and put ND solidly in the mix for the BCS and he failed. Plain and simple. Not clutch.

1) Those come from behind victories were against teams that they never should have been behind. What credit does he get for putting them in the hole?

2) How did he almost have his 4th? Do you really think they would have gone for a 2 point conversation had they scored?

3) Name a couple of signature wins …… Hell, name one.

Coming back to beat Washington, Michigan State, and Purdue. How is he not the front runner for the Heisman?

let's face it. two or 3 plays dont' go NDs way (the stupid taunting penalty against griffen, the int by barkley, and the miracle td reception by tate) and this is a 4 or 5 td sc victory. the refs were also blatently in ND's corner. Now i realize a play or two and SC loses, but it's a bit ridiculous to act like ND has narrowed the gap against SC.
