Ooooh that's a huge blow for them... I have a feeling that Notre Dame will figure it out and be fine

Turner is an amazing talent. If healthy, she should be first team AA. Best wishes for her speedy recovery. The sport needs more players like her.

"Best wishes for her speedy recovery" after Tennessee plays them and not a minute before... :(

This will be a huge blow for them especially if Turner is lost for the year. She is their vocal leader and cleans up a lot of the guards inability to defend (she is a great shot blocker). If she is out for the year they certainly will probably not make the final four (although McGraw is a great coach and will probably still wheel them to success) but it puts her around for an additional season (5th year) as she could medical redshirt this year due to the injury happening so early in the season (like Jasmine Jones was able to last year)

To be the best you have to play the best. Beating a team at less than full strength isn't much of a victory at all. Personally, I would never wish for any young woman to be injured, regardless of the team she plays for.

Huh? I think you need to pick one or the other.

I meant to delete the probably out of it to read they certainly will not make the final four if Turner is out for the year, I think they can overcome the loss of Riemer (mainly because she is more of a role/utility player than their star) but Turner does it all for them and is hard to replace

Great, then when UCons beats the stuffing out of a depleted Nd squad, we can just say it doesn't count?

I would be willing to bet that most, if not all, of UConn's players would agree with that statement. By definition, kids who play sports are competitors. And the best players in WCBB want to play against the very best every chance they get. While fans may want to win by default, the players welcome the challenges that come with playing the best. I cannot imagine Diamond ever backing down from anyone. She wants to compete against the best out there. If you asked her if she wanted to play against ETSU tonight or a fully healthy Notre Dame team, which one do you think she would pick?

As i recall, we played Notre Dame pretty well for most of the game when they were in our gym. The wheels came off later in the game and Notre Dame always had an answer. I don't see any reason we couldn't win IF (and that's pretty key) we play as we are capable for a full game and the coaches don't bring the players down with their bad starting lineups, substitutions, and drawing up plays in crunch time that involve the center throwing it away from out of bounds.

UCONN vs ND 45 43 at halftime. They are hanging tough with their best player on the bench. The Mabry sisters have took over. Go ND.

Both teams are much better offensively than we are--have been for years. They pass better, they shoot better; they both are much better at making threes--ND has 11 today. And ND is missing their best player and one other starter, I think. Ct. is going to break 90 points against a ND team playing a zone. We play lesser teams who play zone against us and can't break 60!

ND gave it their best effort, but UCONN put the hammer down and game over.

HCHW needs to follow Geno's lead and let Ms. Carter play shut-down on the younger Mabrey. She was incredible in the first half, but got very frustrated in the second (doing a lot of pushing and shoving).
