Heard a rumor today that ND captains might not want the team to play in a bowl game if Weis is let go. Also heard a few juniors are gone for sure if Weis is out, but they may reconsider if he stays. What a train wreck waiting to happen.

This doesn't surprise me a bit. It's typical for players to stand up for their coach who is getting fired. Many programs have players transfer during a coaching change. I really wouldn't consider these rumors, just the reality of a coach being fired.

IMO Weis is let go by Wednesday but he will be given the opportunity to coach the bowl game. I think that was the deal that was cut for Fulmer last year.

I wouldn't want to be embarrassed in another bowl game either if I was them.

espn reports he is definitely out

They are reporting that a staff member of the coaching staff said he was done.....I wouldn't necessarily say that is for sure.....However, I think everyone knows it's going to happen....just a matter of when.

Hmmm, the AD says that he will take the players' decision on the bowl game into account. In reality, he should take it into account for who will not be on the team next year. Even in UT's worst years, as a fan, I want to watch the team play in a bowl. If the players elect not to play, then they truly are a bunch of losers. All the votes should be recorded so that the new coach can get a head start on the purging process.

Agreed.

This is ridiculous, we even had some similar rumors about players not wanting to play for us if Fulmer was fired. They may say this at first but when they get over it they will play for the new coach. Just look at some of our players who protested at first, I would bet that just about every one of them would run through a brick wall if our coaching staff asked them to.

according to a post on nd's rival's site they voted to not go to a bowl game. can't imagine why this team lost so many games. . .

They are making them take their buckets out to major intersections in Southbend to collect change for paying off Weis's contract.:)

ND should decline a trip to the Boise Bowl. That is a not a bowl for major schools.

Some did leave and we lost some recruits. Not saying that it was not a good thing just that it WILL happen. Paige, Creer, Warren, Coleman just to name a few.

they aren't playing like a major school right now.

Notre Dame used to be a perennial power. Unless they get their head out of their ass and join a conference, they will more than likely continue their steady downward spiral.
