ND to the ACC

Why do conferences allow Notre Dame to do this? In hopes that eventually Notre Dame football will be forced into joining a conference and they'll have the upper hand? Other than football, does Notre Dame really bring anything to the table? They've been alright in basketball but isn't that as of late? Or do they have a history of being a top 25 team in basketball? I haven't paid enough attention to their basketball team to notice. And what is Hockey East? Is that some type of conference? Stupid if they have sports spread over three different conference.

Acc shoulda made them fully commit

Conferences expanding might force them to at some point. Teams should just refuse to play independent teams. Notre Dame and BYU would deserve it. :finger3:

It's going to be wildly entertaining the first time they turn it over five times to lose to Maryland.

I think it's only a matter of time before their football team joins a conference

Im hoping it forces them to play Michigan State in basketball (Big10/ACC Challenge).

They have refused to play MSU since the 1979 NCAA tourney. Digger has been butt hurt since then, and the rest have just skeered, or something.

ACC lays down $50 mil exit fee also. That should just about put an end to the discussion in Austin about poaching other conferences with any legit athletic contenders.

Exactly, I fail to see why ND would help the ACC if football isn't full time. This is stupid.

That's dumb. No wonder ND thinks so highly of themselves. They are allowed to do stuff like this. It should be all or nothing.

Their home games will still be on NBC.

So the ACC gets two or three more football games, a decent basketball team, and a bunch of scrub sports. They think this will leverage them into a massively lucrative deal?

Unless there is a plan for Notre Dame to be a full member within the next few years, this is the worst deal I have ever seen.

So I guess the 5 ACC teams that have to play ND have to use a non-conference slot for that, even though it's kinda a conference game?

Here's an idea...instead of 5 ACC games, how about 8-9, and put them in a division?

So, for football, Notre Dame is going to play 5 games against ACC teams, and will be involved in the ACC's bowl tie-ins, but won't be a member of the ACC?

This is beyond stupid.
