UNA looked like the Gators, didn't they?

I can't believe that you remember Tiger!!!  I remember when he started at the pee wee level and throughout the years, worked his way up to AAA and varsity.  His sister cheered with me.

Which team was it that looked like Bama?

Matthew Tullis sounds familiar, I can't place him though.

I will have to get out my old Flatrock Vols programs and see who else played for them.

I remember the Stewart brothers, Ronnie and Mike.  Bobby Dunn, Kevin Herndon, David Gibbs, and Robbie Hampton.  I know that there are a lot more.  I ended up going to high school with most of them.

Yes, we were blue, white and orange. But not Florida!! We had never even heard of the Florida Gators back then.

I definitely remember those kids. Tiger Harris played for M.B.A. and graduated in 1992. Matthew Tullis was Antioch's star QB. I also remember Herndon, Russ Hicks, John Ognabeen(sp?), Micah Otis and Davey Talley. I remember the left handed QB named Mingo (is it Johnson?) who played for the Woodbine Broncos, Overton, and then basketball for Memphis State.

Oh yeah. I forgot. This is cool!! I saw the movie called "The Champ" at that movie theatre beside the Steinmart in 1979 when I was 6 years old. I also saw "Raiders of the Lost Ark" there. Do you know which theatre I'm talking about? On Nolensville Rd. beside the Steinmart?

I remember always having to play UNA and calling you guys the Gators. LOL We always dreaded going to UNA because they were always the team to beat.

Micah and his twin brother, Sam went to Overton and were in my class, but they didn't graduate with me. I think they transferred to another school our senior year.

Dave Talley was a year ahead of me. He was a short fella, but he sure could play football.

You are right, it was Mingo Johnson and it was John Oglesby.

A couple of other names that I remember who played for Flatrock were Thoma Gaddis and Brian Bowers.

The theater was called Cinema South. I bet I went there 100 times and watched movies. They turned it into a dance club called, "Outer Limits" and now it's something else. It's right across from Grassmere on Nolensville Rd.
