tennessee has taken its chances with freshmen in the past, even with upper classmen as backups.

How are you going to get developed in the SEC without taking a single snap. Three interceptions against a football team that didnt exist 6 years ago is an embarrassment. Even a bad SEC team should have 50 points scored and the 2nd team into the game by now.

Sorry, just not seeing the silver lining here.

So was Peyton.

Plus the supporting casts Manning, Clausen, and Ainge had at their disposal as freshman were light years ahead of what Dobbs or Ferguson would have to work with. I'm not saying I agree with Butch's decision to not play them at all, because I definitely think at least one of them should have seen the field by now.........I'm just saying I can see Butch's reasoning behind it.

Then why do you accuse Butch of being stubborn? These guys are probably more talented than Worley and just may win the job next year. But there is something that they are or are not doing to warrant playing time. Jamal Lewis, as great as he was, admitted he didn't start early his freshman year because he wasn't able to block. There is something that makes Butch not want them in right now.

All Im really doing is presenting two possibilities. Either Jones is stubborn enough to not start them even if it means looking less impressive to recruits OR they really arent that good.

Once I saw Peterman play, I really got a sick feeling that the cupboard at QB is truly bare. But I am hoping beyond hope that CBJ has an ace up his sleeve with the young guys and he is just maikng calculated decisions to not start them because he figured that Oregon and Florida were automatic losses and this game was an automatic win.

Dobbs or Ferguson may work out, but regardless if either one of them were to play they would be so green right now that it wouldn't make much difference. There is nobody on roster right now who can magically save us at the QB position this season. Some need to realize that.

I think you may be right.

how long has it been since Tennessee scored in this game? Our starters are still in, yes?
