You a preacher or rehab coordinator?
I loved Majors, and I love Fulmer, but I remember the true story, and how Majors became a very bitter mean man blaming everyone but himself when he basically had imploded more then a season before.
He would have been gone sooner had he not named Fulmer OC which revitalized the program. Fulmer saved his butt for two years. In majors defense he was dealing with personal issues that were tough but he spiraled out of control hit the bottle hard, started getting beligerent on and off the field, and the majors we loved he wasn't by the time he finally went out for "back" issues. I don't blame the man for his demons, but the poison he spread among fans, and division blaming Phil instead of taking responsibility has soured all the good memories I have of him.
Fulmer loved Tennessee all his life and has always given his all for the University, and Majors should have thanked him for buying him the last two SEC championships on his record, because god knows the 1960's playbook we ran before was not hunting.
Fulmer was one of the best recruiters in SEC, be he relaxed a little and the SEC doesn't give much space for that...but firing a guy who had given us the best tenure since General Neyland mid season? nah.....that was not classy...he deserved till end of season, and given how recruiting was going he deserved another year...I have zero doubt we'd be better off now.
So four years later we're sucking wind and Phil haters would rather blame him still then admit how completely stupid that was.
