NegaVols' Supreme Leader

Spurrier hates us because he so badly wanted to play for TN and got rejected. He turned that desire to play for our Vols into hatred that ultimately fueled his careers.
Half true, he didn't cotton to UT's bygone era offense of three yards and a cloud of dust. The uT coach of the time defiantly stated he wasn't going to change his offense for one person. So Spurrier went farther down south. I, for one, often wonder what the UT could have achieved with him as our QB, and yet again as our coach. I think his bitterness at the UT is more due to the manner in which he perceived he was treated. A case of Hell has no fury like a Spurrier scorned.

I don’t like the guy. But he ain’t wrong. We can only play terrible so many halves before we let one get past us. I hope we put it all together in the coming weeks. I’ll take a W of any sort any day, but I’d love to see some big, beautiful offensive wins.

We are mad because a hall of fame coach says that Tennessee has to clean up some stuff after 3 one possession games they should’ve won by double digits and won’t also be able to get by like they did the last 2 of those 3? It’s wrong to acknowledge that you can’t keep having scoreless halves and win in this league? Quite a few people have that view.

Ok. Be mad.

Also not sure how he’s a nega-Vol since he was never a Vol. The fact that stating obvious truths is akin to negativity in the minds of so many is funny to me.

One can acknowledge issues while being optimistic about this team and thrilled about the wins. Good thing OP has me on ignore.

Spurrier is a negavol for sure, always has been. There are no negavols on this forum. Just posters that don't always see thru sunshine and rainbows glasses. Just because your different doesn't make you a bad fan.
Depends on how you define the term

I knew they had one. Finally found him. The lord of cannoVols, Supreme Leader of the negaVols. Not surprising, but still caught me somewhat unawares.
Source:
He has gotten worse since the butt kickings we give his ego at South Carolina.

“I was basically going to go to Ole Miss. They were the best passing team in the SEC those days. As a quarterback, you want to throw the ball somewhere. Tennessee was actually getting out of the old single wing. They were in disarray. Bowden Wyatt was sort of let go and resigned, and they had an interim coach.

“So, Florida started recruiting me in January, really. They weren’t even recruiting me that much. I visited down here for the spring game. It was one of those 74- or 75-degree days. I said, man, I think I can take this sunshine a little bit better than that cold. I committed down here and the rest was history.

There is good reason why he is unemployed. He walked out at USCe because he was facing another loss to UT. He is the oldest adolescent I know.

To be a Negavol, don't you have to be a VOL to start with? Just asking for a friend. In defense of Spurrier, there is plenty of arrogance in Johnson City....

Both his teams are out of playoff contention and it’s only mid season. His main team is in a fight for bowl eligibility with that schedule. We would also beat ATM.

I’m glad his bothered by us.

Just a reminder - the OP was against Hiring CJH, and still has the nerve to call others negavols

Was there ever a better coach’s name for the Gamecocks than Spurrier? As cornball as it is, I still can’t believe I never made the name association before.

The thing is, he did have a point. We moved up the polls in ‘16 mostly behind Dobbs with several close games. Then, aTm happened and just couldn’t pull it out like the others. If memory serves, we had more turnovers in that game compared to the three last week.
