Neil Armstrong blasts Obama.

The hypocrisy on this board is astounding... He's cutting back government spending. Let the private sector take over EVERYTHING... Isn't that what you all want???? I'm sensing a no win for Obama.

So essentially what i've learned after the healthcare aftermath and this just confirms it: It's OK for the government to spend money as long as the one forming the opinion perceives a value for themselves, regardless of political affiliation.

actually, skippy, he increased NASA's budget by 6 billion dollars. It's the mission change that we don't agree on.

Rightttttt, then why are some people on here (republicans) saying this will help pay for his healthcare/social programs...

From Droski, it's not as though obama just wants to save this money. he just wants to realocate it to his social programs. at least the space program has proven to get returns."

T-town vol responds, "he does know best.....right?"

Droski again, "it's absolutely not silly. he's increasing funding for his garbage programs and has done so his entire administration. now he's figuring out how to pay for it."

so which way is it?????? Ya'll know better and yet you're going in two different directions on this one topic, lol

But nope, you have a perceived value in this government spending, so it's OK in your eyes. Again, a huge hypocrisy.

So if a retired legend denounces Obama its worth a new thread, if one supports hes just a sheep. Im starting to get the hang of this.

Should I have started threads for James Lovell and Eugene Cernan also???

So why didn't you start a 'Buzz Aldrin' thread?

Your finger broken?

:finger3:

I mean, shouldn't the outcry be just stop the NASA program since it's a government program???

the technological advancements brought about by the space program have done more good for individual Americans than any social welfare program.

at least that's what i get out of everybody on these boards. LEAVE US ALONE until we have a perceived value for ourselves... then government=good. This is just good stuff.

pretty much. Government, at it's best, is a necessary evil, at it's worst, an intolerable one.
but that's not what you're saying in this thread, AT ALL... You have a perceived value with improvement in technology, so you're OK with NASA...

With social programs you have no perceived value for yourself, you think it's bad....

Can't be both ways

Your trust in any politician is amazing.
Do you really trust em? Any of em?
Naw, I don't trust em. But I sure as heck don't trust the bosses of the private sector either. They have proven throughout history, they will do what they want everybody else be damned. That's where government has to step in and provide regulation.

Both are necessary

at least with the government, i can vote them out of office. it doesn't work that way in the private sector.

ever heard of voting with your pocketbook? or, if you reject the implication that you carry a pocketbook, your checkbook or your wallet?

So what you feel is crooked privately owned business owners should be regulated by crooks?

And in my opinion crooks that have nothing to lose other than an elected seat?

oh please.............. when somebody already has millions upon millions in their bank account, voting with your pocketbook does very little. The bosses are still gonna do what they want because they already have more than enough money to last several lifetimes.

Don't look now but you have a huge disconnect that is centered equadistant between your thinking cap and your two ears.

Why have a private sector?

Why not just work for the political crooks?
WHERE did i say that... show me... I said both are necessary. I trust elected officials a heck of a lot more than ever turning everything over to the private sector.

If the private sector screws up, i can't change that due to the vast amounts of money already in their pocketbooks. If the government screws up, at least I have a vote.

so?

I have a feeling you're a member of a union or the child of union parents. Or you could just be another delusional leftist with a boner for Obama's "bottom up" economic BS.

but you just said, vote with my pocketbook.... and your response of SO to my retort, pretty much proves you KNOW you can't vote with your pocketbook in this day and age.
