You serious? I personally don’t care but I can see how this could blow up in their faces.

Not sure what you're saying. If their corporate values included publicly endorsing Satan, then yes, that would be a bad PR thing that would blow up in their faces. What actually happened is not a big deal.

Because most everyday folks see the word satan and lose their collective sh*t. Do a search on the satanic panic. Read the replies to the posted tweet.

Me and my libertarian buddy from HS always talk about this. IDK how old you are but we were kids and we have some funny memories of the panic. It's funny to us but in all seriousness, perfectly innocent lives were ruined by the panic...and it's trying to make a comeback.

Indeed. I’m 45, I remember it quite well. The West Memphis 3 comes immediately to mind. Back in the day if you wore a black heavy metal concert t-shirt you were branded a devil worshipper.

The west Memphis 3 most likely were involved in the murders of those little kids. I believed what the documentaries showed me for a long time until a couple of years ago. I don’t remember what was discovered, but there were some things that came to light that caused a lot of people to change their stances on those 3.

This must not have gotten to my hometown. I don’t remember anything about a satanism panic.

In my town it was minor. We had this cool cove against the mountain that the parents would tell us to stay away from because supposedly that was where the satan worshippers did their rituals. Just little BS like that. Then there were the people who thought Disney was subliminally turning kids into Satanists.

It ruined towns tho. I know of a few stories like this deep dive (this one actually happened in Canada)

Now you guys got me down a rabbit hole. I'm listening to Stuff You Should Know pod which has done an episode on this phenomenon.

I had forgotten Tipper Gore was a catalyst in the panic.

I'm laughing because the hosts said there was a place in their respective towns where bigger kids were rumored to go do animal sacrifices, which is exactly what I'm talking about with the cove. Same BS, different town.

Let's face facts here. Other than a decent documentary from time to time, what does Netflix have that you couldn't do without?

People will levee based more on content choices (or lack thereof) rather than who's on the board.

I'll probably binge watch Cobra Kai Season 3 and drop them. With Disney taking back their content, they're really isn't much that interests me these days.

Yeah, their original content is slipping bad and forget about current recently in theater movies.

I think with Disney taking back most of their content and the ability to make a one time purchase through Prime for something you might want to watch, they have slipped. There's a show here and there that might be worth the trouble, but it's kind of few and far between.

Plus, everyone and their dog has a streaming service these days.

I can do without all of it but the original series are by far the best part.

It's nice having older shows to binge watch, certainly. Or finishing "newer shows" I didn't get to. Just finished "Agents of Shield" (what a disappointment) and planned to drop it then, but Cobra Kai is coming, so...

But I do think Amazon and Netflix both have way too many "original series" at the moment. I mean, it's nice having entertainment in a time when we didn't have entertainment, but I think they both went a bit overboard with the amount they added over the last few years.

What is wrong with the people who are going on forever about losing an Ambassador and three mercenaries during the Obama Administration but say nothing about losing thousands of American service men and women in a war based on lies during the Bush 43 Administration. Something is wrong with them.

I see both of them as wrong.
