I would highly suggest you younger folks watch the 86 sugar bowl, it ended a very good 85 season against a big favorite with a buttload of nfl talent on it, yet we pounded them hard that night. Must see.

That '85 season started out where TN beat Auburn, who was ranked #1 with Bo Jackson as the featured running back, with a big upset of Alabama 16-14 at AL. TN lost their star QB, Tony Robinson, in the Bama game. We won the SEC Championship that year with a backup QB in Darryll Dickey who was outstanding in the big blow out of Miami in the Sugar Bowl where Miami was ranked #2 & we finished ranked 3rd in the nation that year. I taped some of those games that year on VHS tapes & still have those in the drawer. I also have old Cowboys tapes where they play the Giants & Eagles if I recall in the middle to late 80's. I kept those thinking that one day they could be of value.

The single most inspired performance I have ever seen by a Tennessee football team in 45 years of fandom. In terms of pure talent, we matched up very poorly with that Miami team, but our boys, particularly our defense, fought with the ferocity of a wounded grizzly bear.
