Not picking on Christianity at all, just making a general statement that this is how powerfully tribalism can corrupt a mind. 2/3 of the country is Christian and I'd bet 80% of the NFL is but somehow you can get people stirred up about one Christian not making the NFL...

I been boycotting the extortion /gambling league for over 5 years now. Don't like how the filthy league hold cities and taxpayers for ransom when they start demanding a new state of the art stadium. With the NFL, it just feels like you are rooting for laundry and the entitled 1%.

Good thing there’s not billions of dollars up for grabs for schools and TV networks in college football.

Next thing you know players will start making money promoting the local Toyota dealership and signing autographs.

Perish the thought…

keep showing your ass.

There couldn't possibly have been much thought placed behind this notion that Tim Tebow is currently "black-balled" by the NFL.

There are 3 relevant questions to be asked here :

1) What was the last NFL franchise to give Tim Tebow a chance to make their roster?

Answer : The Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021. Jacksonville, Florida is where Tim Tebow was raised.

2) Who is the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars?

Answer : Urban Meyer. Tim Tebow's coach in college.

3) Does it make sense that Urban Meyer, while also coaching in Tim Tebow's home town, would be a party to "black-balling" Tebow from the NFL?

Answer : No. Meyer owes much of his success at Florida to Tebow.

That was such a stupid tweet on so many levels.

If Timbow would have blocked one guy in preseason he might have made the jags roster, maybe.
He looked like a 16 yo girl trying to avoid contact.
And to think this dude might be doing pregame shows for 50 years....geez

Maybe Timbow could try Curling next.
I'm sure he could handle the brush with ease.

Love Tebow, I respect him as an individual. But his Christian values aren’t what is keeping him from the NFL, he just never did well after college
I don't disagree with you on why he's not in the NFL. But it was his Christianity that provided hours of debate on ESPN for praying in 2012, kneeling because the NFL didn't want you to display ones beliefs. Colin did his alone on the sidelines prior to it becoming socially acceptable because of the times. Hypocrisy. But with being said, both are not very good at football now.

Neither one was great at professional football. One was a great college player, but skill set and throwing motion kept him from making it in the nfl, and the other one was a one trick pony. Once everybody figured out how to defend the read option CK was done. Why anyone thinks a guy who got beat out by Blaine freaking Gabbert deserves another shot in the NFL is beyond me. Kaepernick is trash and he knows it. That’s why he’s a professional activist at this point. It’s probably the only thing he can do to still be in the limelight and make money.

Russell Wilson’s faith is rarely mentioned, because he’s really good at football and no one cares. But he’s no less a Christian than Tebow, who is not really good at football, yet his faith is always mentioned…as if that’s why he can’t block an oncoming defender without looking foolish.

The author of that tweet is what’s wrong with social media, spreading willful misinformation in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Tebow is no longer deserving of an NFL roster spot, and his faith has absolutely nothing to do with it.

The author of that tweet free to boycott the NFL for a variety of reasons if he so chooses, but Tebow has proven to us multiple times he’s not NFL material. To state otherwise is willful ignorance.

If Tebow was actually a good NFL player he would be playing. The problem is that he sucks. Richard Sherman is still a baller.

That's great and all, but the first line of my response ended any doubt on my view as to why Tebow is not in the NFL. But let's overlook that so you can go straight into "The author of that tweet is what’s wrong with social media, spreading willful misinformation in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary". To signal out Russell Wilson who is an outstanding player and man of faith does not change the view of 2012 and the medias coverage of Tebow and faith. It's not misinformation if it's presented by the those on networks to use it as a divider. In the putting words in my mouth part of your response, there was not one mention of boycotting the NFL.

We’re arguing two different things, and my mention of boycotting the NFL was in response to the tweet author suggesting that people boycott the NFL, based on the false premise of Tebow being “blackballed” in spite of getting multiple chances to make a roster.

You’re more than welcome to carry a 9 year grudge against the media’s coverage of a QB who wasn’t qualified to sustain a career in the NFL.

I’m focused on the blatant misinformation surrounding why some people think Tebow wasn’t given a fair chance, when his on the field performance clearly demonstrated why.

You can spin it how you want. Again, you said fair chance... I agreed on why he's not in the NFL. But you want to say blatant misinformation as if the media didn't occupy time on Tebow and faith. Easy target for clicks and views at that moment in time. His 2012 run in the playoffs saw higher views because of being "polarizing"

Blatant misinformation is stating Tebow was blackballed because of his religious beliefs.

Spinning is you bringing up media coverage from nine years ago into a conversation about a guy on Twitter spreading misinformation yesterday about Tebow being blackballed because of his religious beliefs.

Your beef is with “the media”, mine is with “social media”, specifically the author of that tweet.

We are arguing two completely different things.

I didn't say blackballed, I said easy target for his faith by the media. He had opportunities after Denver his ability didn't land him a spot. Media and social media is one in the same then and now. If you're beef is with social media accountability then this issue is just one of millions to tackle (no pun).

This guy's tweet is ludicrous, but no more ludicrous than the suggestion that Colin Kaepernick isn't playing because of his skin tone when 70%+ of NFL rosters are comprised of African Americans. Both Tebow and Kaepernick are absent from NFL rosters because they don't have the ability to help an NFL team win games. It's really that simple.

I’m addressing the author of the tweet regarding the blackball comment, not you personally.

I don’t view the media and social media as one in the same. We can agree to disagree there.
