Never ever happy on here

The thing that really makes me sick, is that even Mark Richt awknoledged after the game how great a job Butch Jones is doing.. Other coaches teams and fans see that we are a sleeping giant about to be awoken.. But yet our fans just want "win now or find another job".. I have Florida fan friends who came up to me after the OU game and told me that Tennessee really impressed them.. This is ridiculous that our fans who see the " process" and the "growth & maturation" in detail and up close and personal still aren't buying into it.. My eyes teared up when I saw Justin Worley run back onto the field.. This kid has shown the world how passionate and how much he is giving for this team, and we STILL have people on these boards Calling for Dobbs to start.. Either be a Vol For LIFE.. Or don't, but don't pretend to be one of us fans who stuck it out when we start winning again..

Great post!!! Love it

i am the guy that is tired of saying wait til next year...but we will run georgia out of the house next year and start our own little streak. that was obvious yesterday. we will only have to look at them in our rearview mirror from here on out. and that starts for florida this week...

You might want to take a step back, take a few deep breaths, and reevaluate just how worked up you're going to allow yourself to get.

Chill, bro. You're obviously a passionate fan, but it doesn't have to make you sick - physically or otherwise.

Ya I am the one who needs to cancel..LMAO.

ANYONE out there does not like what I have to say, we can meet in Knoxville and talk it out like men. I won't hide behind the anonymity of the internet like the idiots who talk krap about our team!

If my words hurt, then maybe you should take an account of your life and your attitude.

Maybe you should chill a bit. If anyone is overreacting right now, it's you.

Some Tennessee fans just flat out don't like Coach Jones or his staff. So as a result, anything they do will be negatively criticized. Sure there are still major strides that this staff need to make, but the majority of Tennessee fans who give an honest attempt at being objective see their efforts and see we're headed in the right direction.

I see your point..but this word chill you speak of.. I do not have it in my vocabulary. Its all or nothing. If you are not going to put everything you have into what you are doing...then it is not worth doing. BTTW for those who know what it means.

BTW mods..once again you show your colors.. My thread had nothing to do with never ever happy on here.

But per your usual MO..merge the positive posts and let the idiot nega's run rampant across the boards. Calling people names and starting arguments.

Merge me, delete me, ban me.. IDGAF..

Bottom line is.. If you don't want to support your team, then find another!

Having a bad day?

I don't know what your post was, but I can assure you the mods are more positive about the team than negative, which has nothing to do with merges. I'm sure someone is just trying to keep things organized. If it's than important to be seen with your own thread link it and I'll split it into a new discussion for you.

It doesn't really matter that much freak..just so tired of the rampant disease around here that is the talk ****e crowd who have never played a down in their life and act like they know how it is to put your body and mind on the line for your team.

Probably an over reaction on my part, just seems like the negative posters get more leeway around here then the positive ones.. Its possible it is in my mind, but that is just the way I feel.

I'm on your side. I'm a full-fledged sunshine pumper and I don't fully understand all the negativity either, to be honest. But I like to try to have actual discussions to find out what it is the key issues are that some are upset about. Usually when you dig deeper sometimes there's a common ground.

The negative crowd is always more vocal right after a loss. Usually by Monday, people are a bit more reasonable. Except for Eddie Van Halen. He may have lost his thread-starting ability with his hot seat thread. That's a real gem. :)

Honestly, I think the last ten years are wearing on a lot of people and they want to take it out on this team and staff even though they've only been around for 16 games. JMO.

Had Dooley been coach yesterday, they would have gotten up 10-0, to watch that lead disappear and be down 10-14, and then implode in the second half and lost 42/49-10. That alone, is what is fueling my hope. There was no victory yesterday. Tennessee lost, and yes it is old. However, there is improvement. And I apologize ahead of time for sounding brash, but you are blind or mentally deficient if you think otherwise.

And I don't care who has the clipboard and headset, there is no way anyone is calling a flawless game when they have maybe 1 second to make anything happen before everything collapses. This O line is terrible, and mostly because of youth. That reason is because the above said Coach did not recruit linemen and we are beyond depleted.

The defense had Georgia locked up on 3rd down conversions and forced two fumbles in a row (too bad they didn't get recovered), and because of shutting down Gurley for a while, they also pulled out a couple of interceptions. They had Georgia on the ropes until the end when they got tired. Despite the O line being more porous than a sponge, the offense STILL put 32 on the board and never went home when things were looking bleak.

There is no arguing that Tennessee is there yet, but Lord Almighty from above, they are well on their way. Will it happen this year? I have to say, probably not, but I know one thing. They are going to at least make the games bearable to watch now. I personally am not going to judge Jones or any of his assistants until next year, because frankly, they are starting from scratch more so than Dooley or Kiffin, and it's not even close in that regard. The long term damage the hire of Dooley caused will be felt for years. Even if Butch never gets over the 5-6 win hump and gets fired, at the very least he'll have some decent recruits in place for whoever comes up the pike next. For those reasons, I would say I'm pleased with the progress.

Wish I could see it with the light-heartedness that you do. I can't help but see it as attacks on young men and coaches putting in 12-16 hour days to give their all for UT. And my natural personality is a defender. Spent my school years defending geeks/nerds or whatever stigma you want to put on them from bullies who thought because they were bigger and stronger it gave them some right to pick on them to stroke thier own ego. And it sticks with me to this day.

Injustice sucks. If you're hypersensitive to injustice and abuse, you might want to talk to a counselor or Dr. about it to discover why you react, and in this case, overreact.

Depression and/or PTSD can both illicit these kinds of responses, for example. The fight or flight response is a mother.

Ever watch Silver Linings Playbook?

Its a message board. I can't believe you are letting it get to you this much. And it doesn't mean you love the Vols more than the rest of us, it just means you lack good coping skills.

Lol, you must be a psychologist...

PTSD is what mine blames it on.. But I am not a fan of placing blame. And I do not see it as a bad thing even though it has caused problems in my life. And there is no flight response. But this all just BS that does not matter. Death before dishonor!

Go vols..beat the gators. That is the only thing that matters at this point. Cause haters gonna hate.

No, I have PTSD. And it sounds like I just aced your diagnosis.

Meditate more. Rage less. Take your medication. It's all good bro.

I worked last night and just woke up to highlights of this team almost winning in Athens. Minus worley hurt, and a bad fumble who knows. Then I come on here for insight and op I agree, its aggregating! People need to chill.

Sorry you worked last night and missed the game played yesterday afternoon but you came HERE for insight?

There's a reason that you're hearing this from more than one side. Bring it up the next time that you go in.

And fwiw, I'm on your side. I'm sick of the negavols as well.

But I decided a long time ago (bad marriage) to never, ever give anyone else the power to make me unhappy. It took a while, but it was worth it. Consider taking ownership of how you feel, and find out how to do it. It was certainly worth it for me. :hi: GBO

UGA may not be very good, but they are better than horrible.

I'd say UGA is pretty good, I'd say Gurley is great. He made the difference in that game. Even with Worley out for the time he was, I still think Gurley's career performance (against us, go figure, that's how it usually is) was the deal breaker for us.
