And that means what on the court?
How about 2 points a rebound an assist and 2 blocks in only 6 minutes against a top 10 team in villanova....that's beside the point, the point is what good does it do to bash him?

But you are ok with bashing Skylar who also bleeds orange? Is it just because he doesn't make rap videos? Or maybe because he doesn't bleed as much orange?

Good Point I would have been better served not agreeing with that comment, but it would be because of his size and defensive presence

His music career has actually brought some positive publicity to the Athletic Department, (i.e. his feature during the tourney last year on CBS) and adds to morale throughout UT athletics

Pearl get's ZERO love in here and I don't know why. People think he is a liability on the floor when in reality he is not. He's a good role player. Understands his position and he is a superb defender. He's not a great scorer but he's not ASKED to be, and he doesn't make stupid shots when they are given to him.

I happen to like Pearl alot, and am glad to see him get into the games. He has progressed a ton the past year or so, and is no longer a defensive liability. He might not be able to score much, but he is an asset to the team.

Let me give him some love as a former walk on myself I enjoy seeing him make a viable contribution.

i bet steve pearl has one of the highest shooting percentages of all time. because all of his shots are a driving layup. he is a great role player who isnt scared of nothing on the floor.

This is funny, yet sad that you would sift through all of that.

The kid is not gonna score alot. But he will hustle, rebound and play defence. He is a nice piece of the puzzle.

Role players are supposed to do exactly what SP does, come in don't take stupid shots, rebound, give some fouls, make a pass and put a body on someone. If anyone says he doesn't do all those things relatively well, they're not watching the games.

Pearl does a lot of dirty work-is a very good defensive player-and is very useful contributing productive minutes so other guys can get a breather.

He does seem to have a better handle this year-and not as many random reverse layups.

My goodness... did you all have to take all of the cliches?

Leave some for everybody else next time.

And btw, does Pearl play defense?

Would pearl steeyl be playing if his dad wasnt the coach???
Posted via VolNation Mobile

Yes and no, he would have never have seen the amount of playing time he got over the last 2 seasons if his dad was not the coach. That being said he has used that opportunity and has increased his performance level dramatically. He is now playing his role at the SEC level, tough physical presence in the paint. He is the best on the team at setting a pick and taking a charge not to mention his willingness to hit the floor after loose balls. Team asset.

What about his 33% FG shooting or 0% 3 point shooting. Along with his inability to catch the ball or make smart decisions. I really do like him as a person, but as a basketball player, he does nothing for the team. His negatives far outweigh his positives.

Not exactly sure how criticizing his play is "bashing" him, but whatever works for you.

Pretty much just answered your own question, the criticism isn't exactly constructive on here especially when someone just says "he's the worst out there". His 33% shooting is on minimal shots, and considering after Fields and Williams we are extremely thin down low his defense out weighs his draw backs on offense. And considering he only has 4 turnovers in 67 minutes of action he can't be letting too many passes slip through his hands. To say he does "nothing" for the team is very far fetched, his minutes were very solid against Villanova. But if all that negative talk lifts your spirits in some twisted way, by all means go ahead...
