Neverending MBRO memory thread

Leg ain't hurting, but feels like something stuffed in there 🤣. He seems to think, because of the space between the bones on the x-ray, that what meniscus I have left in there is torn. That, and the buckling feeling, and pain going downhill. He lead off with, "do you know how simple the surgery to try and fix that is?". To which I replied, "slow down cowboy"🤣. Apparently, there's nothing natural you can do to fix that. He does want an MRI to make sure the ligaments are good, because of the burning and popping. He said my overall knee and legs look good, was happy with the muscle, and that I exercise it. He does want me to do a round of therapy to appease the insurance for an MRI. He thinks it's all meniscus and nerve, which nothing to do about the nerve pain except medicine I won't take 🤣. Knee is a little wobbly right now from the shot, been limping ever since I took it. Can't remember if it was like that before, just weak feeling, but no pain right now. Idk say I'll just be taking it easy on it, don't want any kind of cutting for a while 👀
Tell'm you want ostrich knees.

Are you wearing any kind of knee brace? Seems like a sudden buckling could be especially awkward (dangerous!) when you're at work.

I have the past few days, and f6a couple of months at the gym. He said the buckling is because what's left of the meniscus is likely torn, possibly nerve related though.

I had my doctor look at my knees on my last checkup. She did some x-rays, looking at the right knee and right leg in particular. She said I needed knee surgery probably 30 years ago. I told her it was closer to 40 because the wreck that broke every bone in my right leg and shattered my knee was in 1984. The doctors wanted to do knee surgery once I was off crutches. I'll simply deal with it as long as I can, I guess. I've gone this long.

I’m sure not advocating for anyone to get knee (or hip) surgery by Tuesday of next week, but do be aware:

When you have a wonky joint, you will pretty much by necessity start Walking Funny. After enough years of Walking Funny, you will have most likely screwed up the other joints on the same leg, plus at least one on the other leg, and very probably your lower back. And now you’re talking about a LOT of surgery.

If you’re absolutely determined to kick the surgery can down the road (very understandable), at least concentrate on maintaining the most balanced gait that you can.

Less’n you want to walk like Chester on Gunsmoke for the rest of your life.

I tore my left meniscus walking through my house, suddenly pivoting with my left foot planted. The “pop” woke up the cat, and that was before I started yelling. I had the only conservative orthopedic surgeon in Knoxville (wasn’t in a hurry to operate), and by the time it got so bad that I couldn’t safely walk, I had bone on bone arthritis.

Your meniscus is your knee’s shock absorber. You know what happens when you drive a car without shock absorbers.

Here @VolNExile , my poor wound from that shot🤣. Yesterday was real good, today the nerve pain has been bad. I don't think they can fix that though, it did help with the other pain, and buckling feeling for now IMG_20230508_223012003.jpg
