His opening comments were a subtle middle finger to the fanbase, and I'm really surprised he went there. We're going to give him one back.

I was all over Hamilton for his bungling the last hire, with Dooley...even though we had no choice but hope he panned out. Against our better judgement. Seriously, hire a losing HC because he has ties to Saban and his daddy was coach for UGA? Lot of folks scoffed at me in the same fashion, for calling for Hamilton's ouster....until he was. Same for Dooley. We got called NegaVols and all kinds shiz. So, to those same MF's, you can....SUCK IT! We're 3-0, while you are 0-3.



Nothing wrong with voicing one's frustrations with the leadership debacle in the Athletics Dept. over the past several years. It has proved to be an unmitigated disaster. That's why "no one wants to come here" supposedly. We keep getting fed baloney after paying for Fillet Mignon.

That's not going to change until there is a change in the entire group. Starting with Cheek, Susan Martin and Dave Hart. Charles Davis recently stated in an interview with Tony Basilio, that he'd be honored to accept the AD job in the future. Let's start there.

As for Butch Jones. I agree, it's not his fault, and I can only hope that he succeeds. But this job is about going after the most qualified prospects, and paying the market rate for their services. If it calls for paying Gary Patterson close to Saban and Urban Meyer kind of money, so be it. He's earned it.

Why did the press give Hart a free pass today and not ask him any of the tuff questions. Hart said he was the only one who kept is head during the search when things got crazy. What a jerk.

I want them both gone as well. Has nothing to do with Gruden, but more so the way this search was handled.....or mishandled. We gotta somehow get some UT people in these hires.

Who are the idiots....really? The ones who were right about (firing) Fulmer, Hamilton, (not hiring) Kiffin (but Kelly or Patterson), and now Dooley....or the ones who have been wrong on each account?

You're the one whose been wrong. So, recent history proves you're in fact, the idiot.

I was calling for Kelly or Patterson when Kiffin was hired. Turns out both were very, very interested. So, there goes the whole "nobody wants to coach here" theory. If they indeed don't, it's not because of the fanbase or state of the program. It's the incompetence at the top....starting with Jimmy Cheek, a Gator Alum, and Susan Martin trying to impose Ivy League type admission requirements on the athletes. That has been the chief problem with Vandy all these decades. They have to go.....period. Or they will continue to bring the football program to its knees.

Hart was FIRED at FSU. What qualifies him to then be the AD over David Balckburn or Charles Davis (former AD at Stanford)? He has no understanding of the tradition here. It doesn't cause him pain to see the program, where he has no ties to, suffer the way we have/are.

With that being the case, he's going to be inclined, like Mike Hamilton to make the "Best Bang for the Buck" hire...we don't need that. We need hope, to put butts in the bleachers, and hope to sell recruits. We didn't get that the last 3 times we've hired. The opportunity was there. The will on the Leadership's part, was not.

Nobody is calling for him to be fired, nor hoping he fails. The toothpaste is already out of the bottle...so we have no choice now, but to support him. Doesn't mean we can't hold the leadership above him accountable for botching the whole process. Gruden was a LOT closer than most will admit to. Hart botched it. Gary Patterson would have been the ideal target after that. Never heard a single word about him turning the job down. Offering him 4-4.5mill/yr would likely have gotten him in the door. Plus he had no buyout, so that makes his hiring all the more affordable. Cricketts on Patterson. Just inexcusable, regardless if we are behind the new coach or not.

Cheeks should have been fired before this search. Ill give Hart more time, Jones isnt a Dooley.

If you do not believe Hart bungled this search, then you are naive. He let the Grudenmania go on for weeks despite claiming today Gruden never had any interest. If that were the case, why not quash it earlier? It certainly didn't help UT's public image. Of course the public smack downs from Gundy and Strong didn't look good either, or the rumored ones from Fedora and Fisher. Hart had to go through several candidates before he finally could get one to say yes. Any AD worth a damn knows how to sell the university he works for. Quite frankly, Dave Hart failed.

As for Cheek, he's been at the center of the ****storm for sometime. I thought a chancellor was there to make sure things ran smoothly. Has it felt like things were running smoothly the last few years? He's been far more of a hindrance than a help. UT doesn't need that.

I don't really care where these guys came from. What I care about is job performance. IMO, both have left a lot to be desired in that capacity. You don't reward incompetence, you get rid of it.
