New bill looks to replace NCAA, shaking up college landscape

A new bill introduced Monday in the House would replace the NCAA while also shaking up the college athletics landscape, including with the transfer portal and conference realignment.

Definitely a long shot at best. Mandating that teams within a conference all be in the same time zone is problematic, as the SEC would lose LSU, Alabama, etc.
The outcry would be brutal...

Horrible. I'm all for reform, but not using this crappy proposal.

We would lose every team west of Chattanooga if this were to be implemented. That would do away with the SEC as we know it presently, and create a new ACC for teams that would not be in the right time zone, or create a new conference with teams west of Chattanooga and teams like Florida State, Miami, Clemson, NC State could become SEC members. Crazy idea, hope that doesn't happen, at all.
