In the history of Lady Vol bball, who does DD most closely resemble, talent/play wise?

Using a scale of Cierra Burdick (low), Shekinna Stricklen (med) and Tamika Catchings (high)...I would put Diamond at the highway point between Stricklen and Catchings. Her skillset is about the same as Shekinna's, but I think she will prove to be tougher, but not to the gold standard that is Catchings.

I don't think Holly was the best choice as a replacement given Tennessee's pedigree and her lack of head coaching experience, but she was darn good her first 3 years. It's this year that has become a disaster. I don't know if it's the effect of her losing the players that CPS recruited and that she now has her own team or what, but this has been a stark contrast to especially her first 2 years as HC.

we won't know if this year is a disaster yet or not,a lot of Fans don't seem to realize there is a bunch of basketball yet to be played, nobody can call this a bad year or not yet

Looking at the Texas Longhorn women's program that has become an elite program within the last four years, if Holly plans to stay on as the LV's long term HC, I would like for her to take a page out of coach Aston's coaching book. She has added Tina Thompson to her staff along with ex NBA player Travis May. It has helped Texas with recruitment along with other aspects of the team. It is nice to be committed to members of Pat's former staff but it may not be what this team needs. To win you do not have to be the greatest head coach, however you can become great by surrounding yourself with coaches that can turn your weaknesses into strengths. I personally think Holly would be better off to rework her staff. She understands defense but really needs an offensive guru. I think she can improve her recruitment by adding an ex WNBA star with coaching ability. An ex WNBA player, such as Tina Thompson, would be able to convince young ladies that the LVs can get them prepared for the WNBA. I think that this can change the fortune of our beloved Lady Vols.

As I said before, it is great to be committed, however, commitment can build up or destroy a program. I would like for Holly to take an honest evaluation of her staff and determine if a change will make a difference.

Texas is no elite program. In the last 3 years, they have a Sweet 16 finish (throttled by UConn by 50+ points), a 2nd round loss and a not-even-good-enough-for-WNIT. They've had double digit losses each of the last 3 years. They look good on paper this year, but let's see how they do against Baylor and the rest of the Big 12.

But I do agree that Holly can upgrade some of her staff...particularly to help recruiting and develop a 2016-worthy offensive scheme.

Maybe elite is premature but they are very competitive and appear to have the players and new recruits that will make them a top ten program. It will not surprise me if they become elite. They do not appear to be the same team that UCONN beat by 50 points. However, time will tell the true outcome.
