They can no longer hide the fact this is all about commercials. They are the ones that need to be cut back. They are aggravating the consumer at this point. Commercials are taking up to much on TV all the way around. Go get your own channel commercials!24-7 all yours!šŸ˜†šŸ¤£

OK. We're a month in... and the new clock rules absolutely SUCK. There are noticeably more and longer commercial breaks. TV run time has not been reduced. Games are still 3 1/2 to 4 hours long. Injuries are not being reduced by this rule.

It HAS had an effect on the game and not for the better. It makes come backs more difficult.

I would strongly prefer that we go back to the old rule. At a minimum, the clock should stop when a player goes out of bounds and restart on the snap. If they want to make more money on commercials then they should shorten the commercial breaks and charge more. Most fans likely check other games rather than watch repetitive commercials over breaks that are MUCH too long. Or they could simply shorten commercial run times from 30 to 25 seconds.

Who is willing to try to defend this idiocy now?

Commercials are also the source of all the money the networks pay the SEC and other Conferences to support our/their sports programs. No commercials, no money.
