Well Bray for one is not ready for the NFL.Of the three Hunter is the most likely one to be drafted high.CP needs to stay and get ready for 2014 draft.Just my opinion.

If Dooley isn't fired today or at least tomorrow, I'm beginning to think that he will be here next year. Unthinkable, yes; impossible, no.

Everybody thinks Dooley will be gone! Doug Matthews said that Dooley has been trying to workout a deal where he resigns instead of getting fired. That been going on for weeks according to Matthews. Our national nightmare is over.

Another rebuilding year if we lose who we think we will. Bray, Hunter, CP make this team dangerous. If they are gone, it will be harder. We lose OL and Z Rogers. Our D sucks and for the most part is slow.

The next coach will struggle. On paper our next QB should be good. We have some young WR's which look promising, but this will be a rebuilding year IMO

We should probably figure out who the head coach is gonna be first.

My initial expectations are that it will be a rebuilding year regardless. However, we could overachieve with the right guy, just as easily as we could underachieve with the wrong one.

I think if Dooley returns by some act of travesty, it will be an astronomical disaster in more ways than just W's and L's.

Dooley will not be back. There is no way he has support from anyone at this point. Seems like a good guy. I believe he gave it his all. Unfortunately, he came up short and it is time for everyone to move on.

It depends on a lot (coach, players, etc.), but if we get a good coach and have the majority of the talent coming back (let's say we lose CP and JaWuan), we could have a somewhat decent year (8-4). Besides the games in the middle of September and the game in Tuscaloosa, this year's schedule gives us a couple breaks. UGA and USC come to Knoxville and we trade MSU for Auburn. It's a tougher schedule, no doubt, but hopefully we'll have better coaching and direction.

Let's say we get one of these big name hires. A proven winner with actual ability. Should we consider it a rebuilding year or expect to show up and compete for the East in Year One?

2013 Tennessee Football Schedule

Date Opponent
Aug. 31 Austin Peay
Sept. 7 Western Kentucky
Sept. 14 at Oregon
Sept. 21 at Florida *
Sept. 28 South Alabama
Oct. 5 Georgia *
Oct. 12 Open Date
Oct. 19 South Carolina *
Oct. 26 at Alabama *
Nov. 2 at Missouri *
Nov. 9 Auburn *
Nov. 16 Open Date
Nov. 23 Vanderbilt *
Nov. 30 at Kentucky *
* Conference game

All of that depends on who stays on the team. It is possible that:

Bray, Patterson, Hunter, Lathers, Rogers, Thomas, James, Fulton, Stone, Rivera, Waggoner, Gordon, will all be gone...

Their replacements will likely be Worley (for at least the first few games, until Peterman wins the job) Crooms, Downs, Pig, Crowder, Kerbyson, Jackson, Randolph,

Auburn will have a new coach as will. With different staffs, it's probably a toss up . Who knows about Bray and CP? Hunter is gone IMO.

I am hearing rumors that Patterson's grades are bad, due to lack of effort. So, he will not return for next season. Hell, he won't even play, if we are in a bowl game this season, either.

Totally agree on Bray, smokey. Hunter, however, will never hold up to the physical pounding in the NFL. Too many Pro DB's and LB's can and will light him up, especially on crossing routes. Just a matter of time, IMHO. I hope CP stays, but, of the three, if I had his skills, I would not wait another year for an NFL paycheck. Why risk injuryfor no pay??

If our defense does not improven next year its going to be rough who ever is head coach, I think we are missing a few more elite defense personnel. Offense hunter is gone, CP depends on grades , and bray will stay

Well the O-line and running game should be good next year and by default the Defense will be better. Get some playmakers back on Offense and we could win some games. I think Bray needs one more year of finishing school, same for Hunter. CP could go on grades alone, as he struggled wit them in Junior College.

Competing? Yes. Winning? No--we'll just have to see what coach replaces Dooley and what kind of roster attrition takes place. One thing I know if we had a halfway competent coach a few of these losses this year would have been wins. It's of no surprise this team regressed like it did. We all can be fans and have high expectations but I guarantee you that fans weren't expecting wins over the elite in this league. You expect some progress and Dooley never showed it--hell he was still struggling with time management and getting the correct personnel on the field and that's just inexcusable. First day of coaching stuff.

First year Coach gets year zero. Then if he sucks balls real bad in year 3 he gets season 2 with 4 games remaining.
