I think he will have to get use to coverage getting to him a lot sooner in college so he won't be able to take some of the chances he did on fielding punts late but wow can he fly. The cool thing was how fast he was without seeming to be running hard. It didn't matter who had an angle he still blew by them. Will he stay at CB or will they try him at several spots do you think?

If he has some hands, I'd love to see that speed at WR.

When someone says "Why can nobody understand this point?" implies that we don't understand your high level of thinking. It was rude, and now you're trying to get people in trouble, or so it seems. I'm sorry if you don't like that I pointed it out, but you came off incredibly high and mighty.

What was so rude about it?

What do you mean, he's trying to get people in trouble?

Why would the question make anyone high and mighty and seem to have a higher level of thinking?

It was a simple and logical question that a 3rd grader could understand.

All he asked was why Miami, Florida and Florida State weren't on the kid's recruiting lists.

I explained this already. I don't mind his opinion, and I can see where he is coming from. My main problem is the question "Why is nobody understanding this point?" I understand it just fine, as does everyone else. The question directly implies "we aren't getting it." Believe me, I understand everything he said JUST FINE. The question in itself is rude and implies he on such a higher intellectual level on this certain topic.

As for getting people into trouble. When someone quotes a post of mine, and says "Matlock wouldn't need this much proof Freak", I assume there has been some sort of PM exchanged. Assuming can get people into trouble, so I could very well be very wrong.

Regardless, this obviously won't be resolved, because Dan and I view his question differently. And that's okay I guess.

I may be missing the personality conflict here, but on the topic . . .Give Dan a break. When a kid signs from Florida without one of the "Big 3" on his radar screen, there has to be at least a fleeting thought as to why that happened. There could be any number of reasons why that happened. It doesn't mean you think there's anything wrong with the kid or that he's not worthy.

GAVol, I think very highly of you. I must point out that I have said time and time again I don't necessarily disagree with his stance. I have continuously pointed out my problem with his TACT. When he asks the others in the thread "Why can't you understand this?", that's rude! We understand his point, and my problem has never been his stance on the kid we signed. Never. In fact, I think its a great thought to discuss.

Why are you so angry?

I've read through the post and I still don't get it.

I'm not angry at all. It's a rude thing for him to ask. If you don't see it that way, it's okay.

I understand . . . actually I edited my post slightly when I saw there was a little more to this than just the opinion. Either way . . . Dan makes a good point. I think a lot of it though may be the fact that a kid has to want a school just as a school has to want a player.

I think the thing that makes me feel better about this is that he did have some big schools on his list. It wasn't like we beat out South Florida and UAB.

Very true. I actually didn't think about or notice the Miami/UF/FSU thing until Dan pointed it out. It's an interesting point. Maybe he was like Patrick Turner? I doubt it though, because USC was far better than UT in terms of wins, and the Florida schools are ahead of UT. Maybe its a playing time thing?

I think it has to be his size. I can see how a guy like that from a small school might get passed over in state since he's not a "safe" recruit like another kid who might not be quite as quick, but has the size.

Very true. Wasn't Schaeffer one of these kinds of deals too?

EDIT: Wait, not at all. UT was one of the only schools to say he'd play QB.

Maybe he wanted to live somewhere else other than Florida.

Did we recruit someone else from this school recently? Evangel Christian School sounds familiar.

There's a school in Louisiana with a similar name. I think the Bootys and some other prospects went there. That may be what you're thinking about.

Brock Berlin played there as well.

Maybe that's it. I swear I have heard that school with a big name recruit before.

Man, some of you people need to stop being so sensitive and learn to deal with people who have opinions differing from your own.

It does raise an eyebrow when the Florida schools didn't recruit this kid. It's nice to see us beating OSU for someone and I am happy to see a kid with a 3.7 GPA. Character does count, and it is something we have had problems with on the football team, but you can stick 22 choir boys out there and still get your eyes drilled out.

You do realize the crux of my disagreement with Dan had NOTHING to do with his stance on why the kid didn't get recruited by the Florida schools, right?
