And he has a great burst. When he hit a seem, he was gone.
This not meant as a rip on the young man, but let's remember the level of competition. Lenoir City is not Odessa Permian or Oklahoma City Carl Albert.

You are right, but he also played Alcoa(multiple times, Fulton, and Austin-East. He had around 1500 yards last year, but around 300 was against LC.

Again, not to be too critical, but how many D-I prospects would you have if added Alcoa, A-E, and Fulton together?

Somewhere between 6-8, but that's just the case in East Tennessee. Would you turn down Harrison Smith because he goes to Knox Catholic? I know ND is pushing hard for him. Individual players don't make teams, nor do teams make individual players. That's why you don't recruit teams. I'd say he'd be higher ranked on a team like John Curtis or Byrnes, but then again he may be overshadowed on a top 10 school.

I agree that you recruit individuals. However, it's much easier to evaluate players against great teams. If a player excels against Lawton Eisenhower or Cincinnati Moeller, chances are pretty good that they will do well at the college level.

The odds are better, but, with last year's results and Fulmer wanting to recruit instate more, we have to search for these diamonds in the rough a little more than we'd like.
