Every time Duke flops, take a drink. It will make the game more enjoyable to watch. And make sure you have plenty of Bud around. You'll need it.

Here are some things to look for.

Everybody's seen the classic "fake charge" flop, done no fewer than 5 times a game (exhibited here by Paulus):

YouTube - dook's (duke's) Greg Paulus flops (better quality)

But there's also the classic post-jump shot flop, where the Duke shooter kicks his legs out or follows through so ridiculously that he smacks the defender and then flails around to try to "draw a foul." Here are some good examples (watch Scheyer, an expert flopper, sit down after launching a 3 from the side around the 1:00 mark):

YouTube - Are Duke Blue Devils Taking Dives (Flops)

The only player who's got enough integrity to not flop is Nelson, but whenever any of the other players are involved, get ready to drink!

It would be better if it were UNC, or better yet work with the fellow vol fans and do it against KY, Memphis, etc.

But in the end, you are just getting drunk and have a duke win....so why not just drink without the game?

You're right about that Windy : )

This could be enjoyable as well, but the odds of getting passed-out drunk increase exponentially if one of the teams is Duke.

I hated Battier growing up because of it.

I somehow overlooked him b/c I just didn't follow Duke as closely when he was playing. But now that I live a stone's throw from Cameron, I see and read a lot more of Duke, and Paulus, Scheyer and Henderson's antics make me want to hate the way they play.

It's one thing to get in the way of someone driving to the basket to try to draw a charge; it's another thing to fall down when you hardly get touched, or don't get touched at all, or initiate the contact yourself. It just cheapens the game.

Washington did quite a bit of acting last night.

You are only pointing out Duke because you hate them so, or as VFB says, jealous of the fact that they can flop and still win in conference games by 15+. Or maybe its the fact that Duke beat Davidson.

Or, people hate Duke because Coach K turns into a cry baby after they lose in the tournament.

The bolded part is 100% correct, and the reason I hate them so is b/c of the way they play (flopping) and the effect it has on teams that play against them. I think they're good enough not to do it, but they do anyway.

Bitter? Yes. Jealous? I covet nothing (not even their NCs) that Duke has to offer.

And btw, Duke and its 8 McDonald's All-Americans whipped up on my Davidson squad and our zero burger boys by a whopping 6 points. And they deserved to win fair and square. Belated congratulations if I didn't offer any at the time. Well done.

Exactly my point, your hatred towards Duke shows because you are pointing out something so ridiculous that isn't even worth it. Shows bittnerness yes, and jealousy, yes.

And UNC won by how much? :)
