THis is the first time i was excited that we got a kicker coming in. Sounds to me he will be used in other packages. Stand him next to Wilhoit and noone would beleive me if itold someone he plays kicker. They would laugh at me.

For the year Lincoln is 5 of 6 with the lone miss being a block and that's kicking off the ground not a Tee they use in high school

not only does he run a 4.5 40, but he also has strength #s along the lines of 325 bench, 485 squat, 285 power clean. hes a hoss of a kicker.

I don't think he will stay at kicker for long with those numbers....

That's a big ol' boy... for a kicker.

He could be like Florida's kicker from last year, I forget his name. He'd kick the ball off and make the tackle on the returner several times.

With speed like that, you can kick to the corner, send ten men hard down the field, and leave the kicker back to play safety, instead of using two people to hold back.

Has brains and punts too.

"Daniel Lincoln isn't your average kicker. When you talk to him, when you hear about his competitive fire, his drive and determination, it brings back visions of Jordan Congdon , the well-spoken highly-rated kicker that Nebraska signed last year. At 6' 0" and 195 pounds, Lincoln reports a 4.5 40 yard dash to go along with a 325 pound bench press, a 460 squat and a 285 power clean. He excels in the classroom with a 4.57 GPA on a 5.0 scale and scored a 1690 on the new SAT along with a 24 on the ACT.Beginning his kicking as a sophomore, Lincoln is 11/15 for his career with a game long of 49 and an official practice long of 67. As a punter last year, he averaged 38.3 yards per attempt. He was named to the Florida All-State team as a sophomore and once again as a junior holding Honorable Mention honors. He was also named All-Area, All-Region and All-District both years.

lmao its not often you see a kicker with vince youngs size and speed. if he could throw that would be great but i doubt that he can throw that good or esle he would be a qb recruit.

I realize he looks big and cut up, but he's only 6' and 195lbs. That's not NEARLY big enough to play anything but DB or safety.

Did he not play any other position in high school but punter and kicker? I understand he played in Florida where they overflow with talent, but it's hard to believe they couldn't find somewhere else to use him as well.

Outside Linebacker he could also play but he is a kicker nothing else.

True, but if he comes in, eats a little and hits the weights, suddenly you have a 6' 220lb middle linebacker (Al Wilson sized). He wants to kick, though, and if he can occasionally hit a 60 yarder he'lll be our leading scorer if our offensive woes continue.

Why doesn't he play other positions in HS! 6' 195 is RB & DB size! Come on, Kicker? Talk about a wasted scholly... UT should use that one on QB or RB. Heck maybe on an OC. Just my opinion.

Do you watch football games on Saturdays? Do you reailze how many games are won (and lost) by FG kickers? Wasted schooly...I think not!

It is when you can't get into field goal range with the offense! I hope he can kick 70 yarders!!! BEAT THE IRISH!!!

Yes I do watch football, quite a bit of UT, and a kicker is the leat of their worries.

Without a great kicker in '98 we don't win the NC. PK is never a wasted scholarship.
