Well, I have bad news.

I passed out after PT on Wednesday morning. It was my 3rd heat related injury in 4 months. Doctors think that my thyroid may be enlarged. They took blood tests and I'll find out the results Sunday afternoon. I may have to fly to Kuwait for an ultrasound. I have even more reason to be concerned as my mom had a similar diagnosis when she was 30. She passed away 10 years later. Maybe this means I'll come early. I don't know.

I know Sunday is a long way off.

I have hypothyroidism. I do need the ultrasound. My left side is larger than the right, so it might be a cyst, node, or cancer. Good news is if it's cancer "it's the best kind to get". If it's any of those, I will probably have surgery to remove it.

Basically, it means my energy level is lower than it should be, which I have noticed. I just attributed it to age, but my metabolism is declining faster than it should.

Good news is I'm now on medication for it. My metabolism may never be the same, but it can improve and won't decline any more. At least that's how it should work.

I was surprised yesterday with a phone call around 0830 telling me to grab my gear and get going and that I was going to have my ultrasound at the French hospital as soon as I could get there.

I was nervous as heck and I finally got there around 1000. I won't begin to describe the first sign I saw there, but even I could figure out what it said in French, "No female circumcisions". Let's just say it was graphic and displayed openly. Wow.

Anyhow, ultrasound went great! No tumors (though "tumor" was the only word I understood from the French doctor) or anything of the like...my thyroid just swollen and inactive.

More meds for me, and another ultrasound in 3 months.

Then I wake up to the news UT destroyed Cal!

What a 24 hours!

Glad to hear it's nothing too serious..
