New Jersey Democrats Saying Taxes Are Already High On The Rich

The problem with the Left is they inact policies that are disastrous and then they rush in during the next election with the “solutions”. It is almost as if they create crises to get emotional responses by their base? The problem for the Left is they constantly need a perceived “enemy” whether it’s the rich, white supremacists, ICE, the border, religion, police, etc. Eventually, they run out of people to demonize and fleece which is what you are seeing in New Jersey, and California.

Not just white supremacists. They view white people in general as the enemy.

I flew some time back with a guy that lived in NJ, and from what I remember him telling me that his tax bill every year was more than what my mortgage was. It is insane.

Westchester County (just north of NYC) is even worse. I think a million dollar home in Dobbs Ferry will run you about 30k in annual property taxes. And a million dollar home is actually nothing special there.

Yep, especially Christian, heterosexual males. They would rather flood the nation with peace loving Muslims because they share the same enemy. Ironically, those same peace loving Muslims, for the most part, are anti gay/women’s rights.

I paid $116 in property taxes for the entire year last year on a mountain cottage I own in Mentone, Alabama. Yet, Alabama is a much better place to live.

When I left New England my property tax per month had finally passed my monthly mortgage payment. +/- $7k a year for a small ranch on 3/4 acre, not counting the various other local taxes.
Now I see what you are really talking about... how can anyone survive in Illinois?

Leaving Illinois: How Simple Math Chased Away A Village Mayor & His Family

There his family found 10 acres and a house that’s 25 percent bigger than their current Illinois home, all at roughly the same cost. The Alabama house also has access to a private lake shared by some 60 homeowners. And his home in Decatur is only 20 miles from Huntsville, which is booming in all kinds of ways.

What are his Alabama property taxes going to cost him? Just $2,200 a year. That’s a lot lower than the $15,400 he’s paying on the home in Lakewood.

The problem is they are moving from places like Cali and Illinois and bringing their failed political systems with them and trying to implement them in the States they move to.
I've really only seen one example of that here in Tennessee and that was the entire Nashville rail transit plan and it failed miserably a few months ago.

More like individual opinions. They continue voting for the idiots that want to recreate the conditions they left instead of trying to figure out why there are lower taxes in places like TN, OK, TX, AL, etc. And furthermore, why that works so well.

According to CWV, it's because California props up those ignorant Southern States, but anyway...

You just described both parties--gov't in general.

Ok, you weren't clear what you were saying. That falls more in line with what I would expect up there (or actually a bit more).

I think he meant property tax.
My neighbor is from NJ and said his home there was same sq ft as here, about 4500, and the property tax were higher than his mortgage AND property tax here combined.
I mean holy crap!!!!

Yeah, saw a video where a guy was saying his friend was paying about $30k/yr in Ct property taxes on an 1800 sf home w/ a pool.

Literally, it would be cheaper to probably buy a modest home in another state, fly back and forth on the weekends and huddle up with other co-workers in an apartment during the week.

Tax on rain... or a socialist twist on "trickle down" economics?

NJ Voters Furious As Governor Murphy Prepares To Sign 'Rain Tax' Into Law

Stormwater impact fees/taxes are nothing new. Several TN counties/cities already have them in place, it’s all part of the new MS4 regulations. Municipalities and states have largely ignored stormwater pollution throughout history which is a much bigger problem than so called man made global warming. Do I have problems with the way some localities calculate the taxes? Absolutely, in some areas it’s been nothing but a money grab for the general fund. In some they have appointed pure idiots to administer the local stormwater program and they are abusing their power.

Great post and from someone that knows a thing or two about it. On Climate change you are still ignorant.

Didn't you run into problems like this on one of your projects?

LOL

It’s not global warming causing the red tides in FL or the barrier reefs around the world to die. It’s stormwater pollution.

Atlanta has the same. Its a "hook up and maintenance fee" for use of the cities stormwater system. Not sure how it works after completion of a project but I know one of the things the owner has to pay for before getting a CO from the city is a stormwater fee.

with how bad standing water gets here in Atlanta I don't see a problem with it.

Man made pollution is probably the leading cause of those thing. Man Made climate change is real. Like I respect your opinions on land base pollution and the impacts on marine life, I will respect the scientists opinions on climate change.

The differences is that we have hard data and tangible examples of the impact from stormwater pollution, not just models.

We're just getting into the Atlanta market for stormwater so I'm not that familiar with what you have going on there. Probably a lot like other growing cities, they pay lip service to the problem and waste the money.

Basically you don't have an understanding of how greenhouse gasses effect the atmosphere. The data is there and agreed upon by the people that know such things. Stay in your lane because your opinion on the matter is worthless.
