New Name-Mike Singletary

Ahhh Mike Singletary, a POS from the 85 Bears team who all think they are God's gift to football because a blind pig found an acorn and they had a good run. Dikta was vastly over rated, and everyone else on that team are as well. Singletary is a horrid coach and while he may have a "Pete Carol" like results (which would not be a bad thing), I just don't see that happening as I really think he may have control issues over the players. I honestly just don't see him having much success as really the entirety of that team try to run the same game plan as they did almost 30 years ago, and frankly it no longer wins. You can look at Dikta's horrid track record after the 80's and almost all of his players from that team who have tried their hand at coaching as well. I for one think he would be a huge crap shoot. Yes, he could turn out to be awesome, but the chances of him being horrid are just as likely.

If Gruden wants to go to philly so bad like many are saying, then bring on Andy Reid! I believe Gruden is "playing us". I just hope we dont get Kirby Smart, Butch Jones or Golden. Getting really concerned.

While we are at it,lets dress Rick Steiner up as smokey and have him run around barking at everybody!

now i got a huge laugh at that, but i couldn't fire smokey, maybe with Andre the Giant walking him on a leash ?

Has not been mentioned yet but I think he would fair so much better in college than he did in the NFL.

1) proven player
2) great motivator
3) solid track record as a coach

Mike Singletary.

HC record

2008 5-4* Interim
2009 8-8
2010 5-10

total 18-22 (.462)

Coaching experience

Baltimore Ravens (2003–2004) (Linebackers coach)
San Francisco 49ers (2005–2008)(Assistant head coach/Linebackers coach)
San Francisco 49ers (2008)(Interim head coach)
San Francisco 49ers (2009–2010)(Head coach)
Minnesota Vikings (2011–present)(Special asst. to head coach/Linebackers coach)

Notice anything missing? Yeah, ZERO college football experience. Pass

Im trying to keep a positive perspective on this entire search. We can only go up no matter who we get. Fooley was an utter nightmare for 3 loooong years!!

I can understand completely but in all honestly I'd rather have Dooles back than Singletary just on sheer experience. We cannot afford an on the job learning of how to recruit when going up against the likes of Saban, Miles, Richt, Spurrier, etc...

I hear ya. This is such a crucial hire for us. This hire will make us or break us I do believe.

Yep. HUGE for sure. Worst part is we dont what will happen since this is the first time Hart has done this. He could roll the dice for a high risk-high reward coach or he could go high price-big name. We just dont know. I just pray he gets it right
