I am almost 100% sure that if Reagan came back today and ran for President, he wouldn't even be on the ticket for the GOP nomination. That's how far right the right has become in just thirty years.

Surprised it's been 24 hours and you weren't eaten alive for this post.

The media didn't give Reagan a chance of being the GOP nominee back then, but he was, the media didn't give Reagan a chance of winning the presidency, but he carried 49 states.

If Reagan wanted to run today, he would in the debates with the rest of the present candidates answering stupid questions from the idiotic media types that run the debates.

Which of the present Republican candidates to you consider to be far right?

I think you've got a screw loose somewhere, probably more than one.

He only believes in paying homage to himself.

He's great enough to judge God you know.

Nor was I... I was simply illustrating how dumb your post was.

Simply put, you illustrate dumb every time you post.

Gs, do you consider these statues works of art?

Do you consider this art?

Bluegrass Pundit: Pic of the Day: The $600,000 toad statue your tax dollars paid for and you will never see in person

Yes. Taxpayers paid $600,000 for this toad and fairy girl statue. It sets in the lobby of the restricted DoD Mark Center building in Alexandria, VA and can only be viewed by about 2000 employees. That comes to $300 an employee for the pleasure of enjoying this art piece. As an added plus, it reportedly makes a gurgling sound. Oh, that noise may be coming from the taxpayers who paid for this pork toad.

I have two other questions, for anyone.

1. How can you tell it's a fairy girl, looks more like a fairy boy to me from this distance.

2. Since it's in a DoD building, does this celebrate the end of don't ask don't tell?

First read it as you thought the memorial was bombastic in construction

No; I still see it as glory that is vain, though. However, if private individuals want to erect whatever memorials they so desire, I am fine with it until they accept government funding to aid their efforts.

Yes, kind of like someone who reveres Gen Neyland's Statue "Idol" enough to use it as their avatar.

The far right and ultra conservatives like to claim Reagan as one of their own, but the truth is, he was never as conservative as they would like you to believe. I think he rolls over in his grave every time the ultra conservatives stick him up on their pedestal:)
