Even Bear Bryant was NIL'ing back in the day. This has been going on in Bama for a loong time.

Wish I could find a post from several years ago when someone explained about son's of Bear in the banking industry in bama and how (probably) the money was being handed out. Anyone else remember that post???

He was all for it at SEC meetings 2 years ago when he bragged his untested QB already had over “$1 million dollars” coming in. He’s just against any other schools having it.

That same QB was the only QB doing Dr. Pepper commercials all over sec network - how is that fair nick? No other SEC QB got that opportunity.

Every big time school was. I know of the thousands that were paid to players in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Knew people at several SEC schools that were paid.
Travis Henry pulled up in a brand knew vehicle with huge spinner rims and coach Fulmer made him take it back. Told him to be smarter. Lol.
I know players who got 5k in cash just to go visit Alabama on an unofficial visit. That is 5k over their expenses that were paid. Alabama had a great system that was very hard to track. They used it to their advantage. Now that it’s all out in the open, it levels the playing field.
