We've been in ranking meetings all week and are just finishing up the Rivals250 today. The Rivals100 will be released on Monday and the Rivals250 will be Tuesday.

Right now there are three new five-stars being added to the release so start your guessing now.

That will bring us to 16 five stars heading into our last evaluation period, the lowest number I can remember which will make for a very exciting stretch run. As always, we will be all over every all-star game from here on out as well as collecting senior film like crazy and we still have six weeks of high school football evaluation in many areas.

Ray Drew and Isiah Crowell I'd think would be 2 of them. Last one may be Driskell

Randolph & Smith better get the bump to a 4*, Worley should be a low 4* but Rivals thinks he is a system QB & has a weak arm. Kerbyson should by his offer list but according to Rivals they dont look at that, Posey could but it wont happen. I think Dallas should but it wont happen.

I think Smith and Randolph have a shot...because they're both getting alot of pub and I'm pretty sure Rivals has been to see both play during the season...

Those are the only two I could see Rivals bumping to 4*...although I strongly believe Kerbyson, Coleman and Dallas all deserve the 0.1 bump to a 5.8 4*...

I could also see Worley, Williams and Saulsberry bumping up to a high (5.7) 3* this time

Another way to look at this: Maybe it's better if most these guys don't get a bump (Randolph/Smith certain 2 IMO) and some of these guys come into Knoxville with a big ol' chip on the shoulder, ready to knock some MF's head off to prove a point.

I know alot of the anti-Dooley's would use this a fodder, but for a young team in our position, this could work in our benefit...

Does a 3* recruit care that they are rated a 3* when they have multiple offers from big time schools? Do the recruits want to be rated high as they can or is all they care about is the offers? I would think yes, based on getting "repect" from the ranking professionals. Being rated a 3* would bring much less pressure vs 4-5*.

..but also a lot less sense of entitlement.

Speaking of bumps, I just noticed Tennessee is no longer in the Top 25 team rankings on Rivals. I thought we'd have a couple of commits out of the group that visited for the Bama game by now, but no such luck.

fell out after Power's decommit; no worries- it will work out better in long run

It's OK if Worley doesn't get a 4*. Look at Colt McCoy, he was a 3*.

I also think none of our boys get bumped up yet. Just seems to be the way it is. Like if Bama or UF had a 3*, they'd get bumped, but ours wouldn't. That's how Rivals has been rolling.

I think our class finishes outside of the top 15, around 20, but just based on the fact that we don't get the rating bumps we want. It will finish about how we thought, but with none - or very few of the bumps in ratings we thought. JMHO.

Yesterday on Hyams show, Brent Hubbs said he didn't see any of UT's current commits gaining or losing any stars.

They are at where they are at.

He also has pointed out repeatedly they are lowering the number of 4 and 5 stars handed out to match up with the stated goals - 5 stars reflecting the guys who should become 1st round picks and 4 stars should become All-Conference players. This would mean there will be a minor decrease in the number of 5 stars - which is reflected in comment made about the number of 5 stars given out prior to final evaluation - and significant reduction in the number of 4 stars given out (either this year or over the coming years if its a slow transition).

Kerbyson should by his offer list but according to Rivals they dont look at that . . . .

They are lying to themselves if they say that. They list it on their site, so all the guys evaluating know what the offer list is. They consider it even if its not a formal metric for evaluation, even if they don't intend too.
