Are killing the flow of the game. Not just TN game but all day long the Ref's have inserted themselves in the game and it's brutal. It will be horrible if they keep calling this much ticky tack fouls all year.

They're going to call that stuff out on the perimeter all day long. Just can't hand check anymore.

It's more than that. It looks like it's virtually impossible to defend a man who is dribbling or backing towards the rim.

Just the pure number of fouls called per game today that I have watched is incredible.

Well if you're going to keep getting called on some stupid tic-tak foul at least make it count and knock someone on the rear. I swear every damn time UT fouled them they go to free throw but if we get foul we just throw back in. Seems like a new rule that home team get to go to the line every time there is a foul.

Cuonzo is going to have to change his style of play and fast.

These new NCAA rules have nullified his style of play of defense and the tough banging in the paint.

It's our bigs it's hurting, it didn't really effect our guards at all, our guards were very aggressive still.

There were some tough calls on Barton and one on Moore was terrible. Offensive player used a stiff arm and Moore gets called. Please CCM teach a zone. I don't understand!

Right but that was just one or two calls, it didn't really effect how we had to play the guards was my point.

And we played some 2-3 tonight

I agree. The new rules in college basketball is going to kill the game for sure. You cannot even leave a finger print on another player now. I watched the Kentucky game also & they suffered just like we did with these fouls. The SEC is just a physical conference & we will suffer so much from these new rules. We still almost came out with a win on the road against a good team for our first game of the season. If we would have shot just 60% from the line we win the game. Jordan McRae is our best free throw shooter & he missed a lot tonight.

They kill Stokes' playing style too. Cuonzo's going to have to talk to the refs again.

Never saw it. If he did, it was not more than a time or two down the court. If we play zone, they don't score 40+ in the paint. Sorry but you have to scheme your opponent. When your opponent has no outside shot (or few), then you play it. Christon is their best player and doesn't shoot well from outside. Or you can just scream all night when time after time the guards drive and the bigs make one on one moves down low. Just don't understand it.

It's easy to adjust with the hand checks, but the interior officiating was atrocious. I don't care if you call it tight or lose, just be consistent.

I saw adjustments, but not zone. They began to play extreme sagging man and doubling the centers and it worked decently well, but Christon/Randolph still burned them because the guards playing PF with Maymon at C were inevitably slow to rotate and help.

We played it 2 positions and they scored inside both times iirc

but it'll still suck

Basketball needs this rule IMO. To much hand checks and reaching/holding offensive players on drive were holding the game back. Once the players realize there isn't a point in making contact then they'll stop and fouls should go down. Yes, it'll suck for now. But in the long run it'll be better.

I watched the UT and Duke games and each game felt like there was zero flow. I really don't understand how the NCAA thinks calling a foul every time a players touches another is compelling. It made for really frustrating games.
