I agree. I still think the coach should held accountable to some extent...when there continues to be a disciplinary problem other issues exist!
Realistically Rogers gets to go play for Tennessee Tech now after his selfish act at UT leaves the team in dire straits having to replace his starting position(s) with another player(s). He won on this deal and UT lost, plain and simple. He was the leading sec receiver last year and now he's gone down the road two hours away , just a minor bump in the road for him. What a spazz.

Just my beliefs:
1. In this day and age of pampered young folks, one has to be ultra cautious or end up being designated an abuser of some type. Even parents have been jailed for spanking their disobedient kids. I even read where 4-5 years ago, a drill sargeant was discharged for verbally abusing recruits.
2. CDD set up the VFL program and hired an ex-Vol player to specifically stay atop of problem players. That hire failed. Probably no fault of his own as today's young folks don't have respect for authority in any form. You got 10 year olds cussing out teachers, middle school boys scheming to hump a teacher who happens be dumb enough to let it happen, and kids can even divorce their parents these days.
3. You want to beat up on CDD? Then beat up on Spurrier too who tried hard to straighten out Garcia.
Les Miles who seems to still be trying to save Mathieu's azz. Also Larry Coker who dismissed Adkeye and Dada from UTSA squad. I could go on and on but surely you get the idea. CDD and no coach in fact has magical powers. Today's young folks think its OK to binge drink until they're lying unconscious on a curb with their cracks showing. Or smoke weed just outside classrooms (yes, I've seen it happen). Attend class with their ears hooked up into iPhone or Androids instead of paying attention in class. CDD has no magic powers when a player has decided he's not going to abide by rules. Same is true with cops. They can't magically prevent people hellbent on drinking and driving, speeding 30mph+ over the limit or shooting someone because they wanted to know what it was like to kill a person. You, me, and no one can cure stupid. There's no medicine for it, there's no surgical process for it, and there darn sure is no magical cure.
I think the punishment should be running the stairs of the stadium - I mean seriously, at least a third of that university (probably more like half) has done the same thing that DRogers did in the past year
Yes, but of those only 2% probably have their entire college paid for. Athletes i college are held to a higher standard than others. Fair or not, it's the truth. The world isn't fair and the kid has put a target on himself since he arrived on campus.

I don't think its "today's" young folks that are doing this, but young folks in general, regardless of generation. There have been bad apples in every decade, but we live in a world of 24/7 instantaneous news and round the clock commentary from talking heads on TV, so the truth of what has always been there is now amplified. It's no the drugs, the booze, the iphones or technology that are making these kids bad. It's the other way around. Its bad parenting and bad influences, same as it was 50, 100, 200 years ago. Just imo.
DR was a repeat offender and it wasn't just about sucking roaches. I was maybe one of his biggest defenders and fans. But even for the likes of me the drama around him reached a point of saturation where I had to agree that enough was enough, was enough. Apparently CDD and someone above him came to same conclusion. The most telling thing to me at this point is his teammates have practically nothing to say about his leaving. you'd think a play maker like that would result in teammates collectively coming to his defense. Believe me, our guys want to win. They know with DR in the fold chances of ding that is a heck of lot better than being without him. They've been through a lot and are hungry, anxious, even desperate to win. Yet. . .silence. Except for Lather's and Bray's comments which bespeaks almost a tone of relief.
