USC has been very aggressive when it comes to offers for the 2011 class under new head coach Lane Kiffin and recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron. In fact, nearly 60 prospects have received written offers from the Trojans with numerous others awaiting written confirmation on verbal tenders.

Lane Kiffin is a joke....I'll give him one thing, he can recruit but he did not impress me with his coaching ability.

I think he is the second coming of Coach Tricky Rick at UCLA, I hope there are enough mice in LA for those two snakes.

I'm sure with 80% of your roster coming from California that's made up of 4 and 5* players, any coach with half a brain could rex.

Well before Carrol showed up USC was pretty mediocre for years even with all their tradition, resources and in state players to choose from.

That's like saying the guy who goes after every girl at the party and hooks up with one is a bad ass. You're bound to get some recruits if you offer every person in the Rivals 250 and really recruit them. That's what they're doing.

Kiffin's coaching ability is still up for debate, but what is so frustrating is that it is obvious that he understands what it takes to have a winning program. I was excited because he was restoring true physical football to UT, much like we had in the 90's.

He also recognizes that you need players in order to compete and he surrounds himself with coaches/recruiters that can recognize talent. We had Michael Taylor pegged almost a year before he blew up at the All-Star game. I dislike Kiffin and Ogre as much as the next person, but they know what it takes to win and they were on their way to doing it here.

are one of the best if not the best recruiters in the country. It sure as hell beats the alternative. You may not want to hear it but they get "recruiting" unlike some other coaches I know. It is about numbers, every DT in the country that can play should have an offer from TN right now and we should be recruiting them 24/7, maybe we are you never know with the turtle, but silence in this day and age is not golden. Maybe that wunderkind Terry Joseph should wake up and realize he is in the bigtime with a war at hand. Oh I forgot Bearden may have some players we should offer before la. tech does.

I hate to say it, but he will win big at USC
I could go to USC with that roster and win big. Not saying that the bunch of goons won't do good out there because I think they will. Kiffin has a good football mind but his staff is what will make him successful. The Pac-10 is weak as it is, when you have head and shoulders talent above everybody else except maybe Oregon its easy to win that conference year in and year out. JMO

Still don't understand why people that were on his nuts in his short time here are hating on him so bad now.

I wouldnt call the Pac-10 weak. Esp considering the beat downs we've experienced at their hands lately.

I won't miss him going for it on our on 30 YD line on 4th and 1, (or his intergrity, or lack there of ), but other than that I still wish we had the old staff. The off season flew by, they recruited better than any staff I have ever seen, and the excitement was at a point I haven't seen since the 90's with them. Sucks everything worked out like it did, because we were surely headed in the right direction with the old staff. This new staff might be better at X's, and O's , but I doubt they will ever touch the old regimes recruiting prowess.

At the hands of UCLA? UCLA isn't a very good team. They have 2 good teams(USC and Oregon) 1 mediocre team that can be good when they come to play(Cal) and most of the time the rest of the conference is just flat out mediocre. I've always thought the Pac-10 is weak.

Most (90%) here loved exCLK...... We wanted him to win at UT and loved his staff. Now that he has left...people are bashing him, staff, ect on not being a good coach, questionable recruiting habits, and pushing the envelope.......

I hope he flops at USC!! Gets in NCAA trouble....but IF...IF....he was still at UT...I would love what he is doing!!! YOU would as well!!!!!!!

Dooley will do just fine here!!!!! In a few yrs!!!!

you forget Cal. Also Stanford has come up quite a bit since Harbough took over.

OSU is no slouch either. Look at the SEC right now, its Bama, UF, and LSU (somewhat).

I did mention Cal as being mediocre but potential to be a upper tier team....I think Stanford just caught lightning in a bottle with Gerhart(sp?) but Harbough is a good coach and has them going in the right direction but I'll be curious to see what he does this year

Can you share that list? You know, the one that says how many recruits Dooley has offered and where they're from?
