How about we yell "hoo" like in Rocky Top when we do the fist pump?

I think it might work better, in a regular game. In a spring game most fans want to be entertained. Which for most is offensive scores, so a third down stop is kinda a yawn. Though after what we went through last year we might shoulda ,been ecstatic.

I really don't like the whole "fist up" thing. It looks nazish. Also, I think it has sort of a calming effect on the crowd which is never good when we are on defense. The only celebration needed after a 3rd down stop is Neyland shaking with raucous noise created by 100,000+ acting like they all won the lottery, not some cheesy gesture.

I think the players need to do it as well.. The people in my area were not getting it, and only a few would Fist up after third down. I agree, there needs to be some saying or something.

I really believe there needs to be music like there was today. My favorite part of the O&W game was when Arian Foster told the band to be quiet, he was playing music. We need NEW MUSIC! I'm not saying stop the band from playing. nothing replaces rocky top, but some New Age music is refreshing and gets the crowd and players into it.

New Age music from artists like this guy really fire up the team.

Someone suggested to chant "power T" with the fist in the air (which could morph into Power D)

It did look cool when people did it. But agree we need to make noise rather than a silent gesture

We don't need noise after we hold them and force a punt. Fist up shows your defense you recognize their work...keep it up.

I seriously didn't think it'd be this hard to understand.

Correct. Noise is useful during the series because it messes with communication. Noise after the stop is celebration. If the defense wants the fists up as the celebration, we should roll with it.

We need noise all the time except for pre-snap cadence.
