Redshirt in 2018, not sure how 2019 is treated with him leaving program after 2 games. 2020 is covid year. Could he have 2 years?

Sophomore (2019)
• Made his first collegiate start in the season opener against UC Davis and also played at Washington in the second game of the campaign but did not have any statistics other than participation
• Left the program after two games
• Had two receptions for 25 yards in the spring game including the game's longest pass play of 23 yards on a pass from Chase Garbers

Freshman (2018)
• Earned the Dink Artal Award as the Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year
• Played in three games all off the bench but did not use a season of eligibility
• Recorded one catch for 15 yards against TCU in the Cheez-It Bowl
• Named a Cal Scout Team Player of the Week for his performances in practices leading up to a win over North Carolina
You play one second of a season, and it counts against your eligibility. 2019, 2021 and 2022 is THREE SEASONS played.

If his clock started in 2018, that would make 2023 his 6th year... that would be it giving him COVID year.

Blackman highschool in Murfreesboro has a kid TE Ben Marshall. 6/5 220 now. Definitely needs a year of eating and solid weight gain. Kid is very athletic. He was forced to play QB for their last two playoff games. Over those two games he accounted for 6 TD. Two rushing, two passing, and two receiving. Probably others were are in on that are rated higher so I understand. Currently committed to Cal

So...

2018 - Played 3 games = Redshirt
2019 - Year 1
2020 - Covid throwaway
2021 - Year 2
2022 - Year 3

23' Will be Year 4 and then he has the option for 24' to be his covid year, making it 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Correct?

No. You’re confused on the “Covid year” term. THIS is his Covid year.
