Everybody calm down.

They're not Adidas hats, they're just hats sent by a bat company. Wearing them in the fall because the hats for the season are not here yet and Serrano didn't want a hodgepodge of extra hats from last year being worn by the team this fall. Obviously, they're not the right color. They're mesh. They're just for fall practice.

Contractually, we have to wear Adidas hats for games in the spring, and those have always been the proper color.

The overreaction to something worn in an off-season practice is pretty amazing.

Why is it an overreaction? Folks just said they were disgustingly ugly. They are. And it doesn't matter where they came from, they should have been tossed in the trash, or donated to some truck stop to be sold in the dollar bin.

I'm a new Vols fan this year. The hats are so bad I've decided to make my first post ... glad they're only temporary!

(Maybe they could stop by the campus bookstore and pick up some decent ones for future interviews, eh? :eek:)

Now you're just being silly for the sake of arguing. Nobody really does care. It's a simple discussion of how ugly the hats are. If they practiced in neon pink tutus, folks would still be laughing at them. Those hats are in the same category.

These hats kind of remind me when the Kansas football team switched to navy blue instead of the normal blue of Kansas; it was funny seeing the stadium, the fans, and the cheerleaders all wearing a different shade of blue than the football team.

Possibly the ugliest hats ever worn by a UT team. At least top 3. Color's way off, looks like a softball team or a grab bag hat at a truck stop.

how does the University manage to license the logo to be applied to every shade of orange. They should require that all items be the correct color orange to be licensed.

They do. But from the sample that is carefully tweaked until it's the proper shade and approved by licensing to the mass-produced version that ends up in stores can sometimes be quite the contrast in color. Not a lot that can be done about that.

By the way, the hats are headed for the scrap heap soon. Nobody thought they looked good, they were just a placeholder because there weren't enough leftovers from last year for a full set. In the catalog, the oranges matched and were correct. When the bat company sent them, they weren't.

That is without a doubt the worst looking baseball cap I have ever seen. I know that is not Tennessee Orange. Burn them and try again Adidas or whoever designed them.
