No fantasy picks, just reality, who do we end up with as the qb in the next recruiting class??

I'm going to have to say that Tennessee won't be able to sign a quarterback in the 2007 recruiting class. I think everyone knows Crompton is the future... plus a quality QB like Nick Stephens will be around for probably 5 years and eventually be a stud. We may have to wait a year or two before we can sign another decent QB.

That is your opinion. You're entitled to it. But, UTK most definately will sign a QB this class. It is being made a priority by the staff. And, kids are not looking at Crompton and being "scared" to sign with us. Other schools have young QB's that have actually PROVEN themselves and that still doesn't stop top QB's from signing with those schools. Shoot, look at USC signing 3 top QB's in one class. Apparently they arent scared of competition.

On a side note...I think the QB that we will land is from the great state of Texas. Joe Chaisson.

Is that the kid from Beaumont? I just moved to Houston.

i'm not big on us only going after dual-threat QB's. I think we won't land another big pocket QB for a while but we'll bring in alot of Shaeffer types

Brent Shaeffer may do something at Ole Miss, he had so much talent, but then again he may self destruct.

i would like Dual-threats if they could run. They are lanky guys who lack durability, i didnt see a D-T QB we were going after over 190 lbs.

We won't be able to lure any high-profile QB this year... we might end up signing an in-state QB or something though.

My point exactly... we may to have to settle if we want a QB in this class. I hear Michael Park from Memphis is actually pretty decent. Could be a future Jim Bob Cooter... without the awesome name, of course.

Wrong.

There is a QB in state, actually a few of them. The main one we are recruiting is BJ Coleman from Chattanooga(McCallie). He is more of a drop back passer, but he has rushed for a whole lot of yards.

Have we offered BJ Coleman?

we have a few QB's but I don't think we have any that could ever start at the SEC level

Tennessee is looking at some mobile QB's..

B.J. Coleman - considered more of a pocket passer.
Eric Berry - could play a lot of positions, 4.33 40
Kodi Burns
Travaris Cadet
Joe Chaisson
D.J. McFadden

We are still evaluating Coleman and I'd say he's a 3rd or 4th option.

Well, it'd sure be nice if he could work out well for us. Who was our last starting QB from Tennessee?

The last thing I saw in the paper was that he had been a Tennessee fan but that he had also been to an Alabama camp. He actually lives in Georgia and is from the same place Rick Honeycutt is from. He can throw it, good size and led his team in rushing his sophmore year even though he really isn't a runner. We could do alot worse.

I don't care if their a dual threat or a drop back passer if a kid can make plays and put points on the board, then that's the kid I want us to sign

Tee Martin, Vince Young and you don't like dual threat quaterbacks, do you like winning at all? these guys went 13-0

Dual threat guys are fine as long as they know when to run and when to throw it away. Tee Martin wasn't really a true dual threat QB as much as he was just a big tough kid who could run if he HAD to.
