New York City

It's weird. I was reading today that Tennessee is #2 regarding how nice people are to each other, whereas NY was ranked #50. Anecdotally, I've been to NYC with my kids several times and ridden the subway everywhere. Whether underground or above ground, the people have always been extremely nice to us. My kids beg me year after year to go back.

My experience is that it largely depends on the area you are in and the time of day. Most of my recent experiences is Midtown during the day and that has been fine.
FWIW, I do REALLY like the ferry system. I sometimes buy a $4 ticket and just ride the East River Ferry just for the scenery. The view of Manhattan from Roosevelt Island at sundown is majestic

Yeah, I can ride the subway and hope I don’t suffer immolation

I am sure the poor lady burned to death appreciates the distinction

What “outrage” do you detect? Irony maybe and definitely sarcasm, but no outrage 😂
I love both irony and sarcasm but I don't detect even the least bit of either. It simply comes across as shallow and narrow minded.
But it's good to know it wasn't intended that way.

That is what all crime rates do.

"Regroup" is advice you should take yourself just like "keep up" earlier, but I excluded "try again" because your posts just waste everyone's time like this one did
So it’s the same logic, more people drive so more wrecks would happen. You’re all over the place trying to recover. “So it’s sounds like you’re agreeing with me.” NashVol11
I want to give credit to a line you use often.

Recover and come back with another spin.

Driving is more dangerous than the subway per capita as well, not just based on volume. Whoops, there goes your entire argument and turns out you were wasting everyone's time again

The boards aware, thanks. Just like your spin on violent crime in NYC isn’t that big of a deal because of population. Your stance not mine. How do the kids say it “whoops, there goes your argument”. Damn, reverse UNO played!

By all means though, speak of others wasting time but yet you continue to respond. Recover, revisit your words here in pages back and spin it.

Who’s really gives a s***? Not everyone wants to have to navigate many of the dregs of society to get from point A to point B.

You're missing the point so I'll try to say it slower for you. Yes, NYC's crime rate, which is measured per capita like every other crime rate, is relatively low. The subway being less dangerous than driving has nothing to do with "population" - even per capita, adjusting for population like the crime rate, it is still a lot safer than driving. It's not even that complicated and you were somehow still wrong about both lol. Bringing up crime rates in this context was nonsensical

Thinking it is worth spending much more money AND having a higher chance of death all to avoid seeing a homeless person is not something I would admit if I believed it, but I'm not surprised

That's a great idea! Thanks for the info.
