It's been about 20 years since I was last in NYC and I felt totally safe walking the streets at night. There were beat cops everywhere and I saw the same ones over and over again and began to make conversation with them whenever I saw them.
From what I'm seeing on the news now about NYC I'll never go back. It's a shame because it is a unique city.
