If Mayor Adams makes Everything about Race, it’s going to be a long four years

So Eric Adams, New York City’s newly elected black mayor, travels to Albany this week to ask the state Assembly’s black speaker and the Senate’s black majority leader to modify laws that are protecting the criminals who are murdering, maiming and robbing mostly black victims and is turned down without a hint of political camouflage.

And the problem is — white news reporters?

So says the mayor. “I’m a black man that’s the mayor but my story is being interpreted by people that don’t look like me,” he declared Tuesday, adding that if news coverage doesn’t soon meet his specifications, “I’m just going to come in and do my announcements and bounce.”

Forty-six days must be a record for a rookie mayor to go all paranoid on the press — particularly since coverage of Adams generally has been anodyne, and often is adulatory.

That is, if there’s a skin problem here it’s that the mayor’s is too thin. And if Adams means to drag New York down a racial rabbit hole whenever he suffers a policy setback, it’s going to be an ugly four years.

An unhinged man with a history of attacking strangers randomly slugged a 4-year-old boy in the head in Times Square — then promptly got lit up like the lights on Broadway by two women, with the child’s mother also stepping in to help restrain him until officers arrived, law enforcement sources and prosecutors said.

Babacar Mbaye, 34, was arrested Thursday after the unprovoked broad-daylight attack at 46th Street and Seventh Avenue at the Crossroads of the World, the NYPD said.

The brute allegedly hit the child at around 3:20 p.m. as the area bustled with pedestrians enjoying an unseasonably warm afternoon.

A robber kicked a 57-year-old woman down the stairs and bashed her head repeatedly with a hammer at a New York City subway station just days after Mayor Eric Adams vowed to crack down on violence in the transit system.

Shocking video outside the station in Queens Plaza, in Long Island City, shows the robber, walking with a cane, approach the woman, who has yet to be identified, as she carefully walks down the stairs to the subway platform on Thursday at 11:22 pm.

The man begins to kick her in the back, attempting to knock her over, but when the victim stays on her feet and appears to try and slowly flee, he pulls out a hammer.

He proceeds to bash her in the head 13 times while she struggles, with the final hit knocking her over.


Officers found the woman lying on the ground, suffering from a fractured skull and lacerations to her head. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she is listed under critical condition.

The attack comes one week after Adams announced his Subway Safety Plan initiative and deployed 1,000 additional officers, as well as teams of health workers, to crack down on rising crime in the subways.

New York City Man Convicted Of Threatening To Kill U.S. Senator Joe Manchin And Fox News Hosts Laura Ingraham And Greg Gutfeld

Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that RICKEY JOHNSON was convicted yesterday of threatening a federal official and making interstate threats, following a one-week jury trial before the Honorable Lewis A. Kaplan. JOHNSON threatened to kill United States Senator Joe Manchin and Fox News television hosts Greg Gutfeld and Laura Ingraham in direct messages and publicly posted videos on Instagram.

According to court documents and the evidence at trial:

On January 30, 2021, JOHNSON sent direct private messages to Mr. Gutfeld that threatened, “you will be killed.” On February 3, 2021, JOHNSON posted public videos in which he threatened to kill Senator Manchin, Mr. Gutfeld, and Ms. Ingraham. Among other things, JOHNSON declared that Senator Manchin was “dead” and would be “executed”; told Mr. Gutfeld that he was “going to take [his] life”; and said that he would “kill” Ms. Ingraham with his “bare hands.”

An Asian woman who was struck in the head with a rock in Queens has died from her injuries nearly three months later, authorities said Monday.

GuiYing Ma, 61, died Tuesday at Elmhurst Hospital from the head injuries she suffered in the Nov. 26 attack in North Corona, officials said.

Go was sweeping the sidewalk when Elisual Perez, 33, approached and the two had a dispute, court records show. The nature of the argument was unknown.

He then allegedly hit her in the back of the head with a large rock that he picked up off the ground, causing her to lose consciousness, court records show.

Elisual Perez allegedly attacked Ma after getting into a dispute with her on a sidewalk in North Corona, Queens.
