It's funny to me how certain people (EL and LG) are radio silent on this black supremacist terror attack. These people only ever care about a mass shooting when it's a white person or Christian.
It would be wall to wall coverage about how evil and racist America is. Rioting and looting, "mostly peaceful protests", would break out all over the country.I don’t watch TV news, but I assume this isn’t being covered from the racist angle much.
If this dude was white and racist….oh man.
If this black racist had been carrying a weapon in certain other states, there is a good chance someone would have shot his ass returning fire.It would be wall to wall coverage about how evil and racist America is. Oh, and also, there would be a huge push for gun control.
if they had them it was minor - just an inflated claim to justify the war.
I just thought it was a new level of anti-gun rhetoric to refer to them as WMDs (Eric Adams).

‘It would involve giving up a lot of luxuries’: Tenants fear doorman Strike
Working from home could soon have a whole new meaning for New Yorkers living in luxury buildings. If service workers — which include doormen and women, porters, superintendents, maintenance personnel and concierges — carry out a citywide strike on Wednesday, ritzy residents could be on the hook for everyday tasks such as taking out their own trash, picking up packages and patrolling the lobby.
If Service Employees International Union Local 32BJ — which represents 32,000 residential building service employees — can’t reach a deal with the Realty Advisory Board over management’s proposal to cut sick days and vacation time and make employees contribute to their health insurance, it plans to strike later this week. More than 3,000 buildings and 555,000 apartments would be affected. Many residents are being asked to prepare to take volunteer shifts, and they’re not happy about it.
“I did not agree to pay approximately $1 gazillion per month to live in a building with no trash service or where I can’t get food/groceries/packages delivered,” posted one disgruntled renter on Reddit.
Living in New York City luxury buildings could soon get rough
I grew up in NYC. Yes, the landscape has changed recently but since she has already had some NYC living experience, the transition should be easier. My daughter is moving up to NYC in June for her job. First job out of college and I’m scared s**tless for a lot of reasons. We sent her up there when she was 17 for a month to train in a program she applied to, rented an Air BnB, she figured it out fine. Not worried about her handling herself, but this is a whole different deal with the way the landscape has changed up there. Good news is she has several good friends up there so she’ll have a little bit of a built in tribe. She’ll be in lower Manhattan. Any NYC natives/experts got anything I should fill her in on? TIA.

Another thing that I recommend is occasionally taking trips outside the city. Lots of great places that she can see on day/weekend trips.
I congratulate on getting that job and wish her a fun, positive experience up there.
I would bet the Realty Advisory Board and that disgruntled renter all vote Democrat. So much for supporting working people in this country.‘It would involve giving up a lot of luxuries’: Tenants fear doorman Strike

Depends where you live of course but a nice place isn't nearly that much. It's expensive for sure but the pay is higherDamn right! I have always dreamed of living in an 800 square ft apartment paying $6000.00 a month for rent. It would be lovely to fork out 15 bucks for a grilled cheese at some fru fru sandwich shop in lower Manhattan.
