I know I come off hard on Fulmer sometimes, but even I think where we are is understandable.  We've fallen somewhat and other teams have come up.  That happens.

My beef is usually three-fold if you'll notice:

1. Fulmer is delusional and won't ackowledge or fix things that are broke until a 2 year old could do the same
2. Too many people rationalize, apologize, and make excuses for mediocre results
3. We have an uncanny ability to lay large eggs in big games against big teams

Other than that, I take the good with the bad and hope we do well.  Going 5-6 and losing to a team without an athletic department kinds of rubs me though.

Well, if you haven't been hard on Fulmer, even if your a huge supporter of his, then you haven't been watching, at least not watching this year.

Fulmer delusional? word choice? but i know what you mean. He does tend to gloss over things that seem so apparent to others....i think of him more of a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" type of guy, which is probably just a nicer way of saying delusional i guess.....
Yes, he does have supporters that think he can do no wrong, and there is justification for that....he did win the SEC twice and an NC...beat Bama 9 straight years, beat UGA forever...and has ended UF's plain domination of UT....again, on just pur face value, those are quite the accomplishments in some fans' eyes...
and in your last point, for every big game we lay an egg in, there will be someone else to show a big game we won we had no business winning...it's a catch 22, is your glass half full or half empty?

I think as fans, we're just plain greedy. we want all of the above, all the time...you just can't win if your fulmer, unless you never lose.

We are greedy; it kind of goes with the territory. And we want people to blame when we don't get our way (I'm not removing myself from that list). That's how politics works these days: if something isn't just the way you like it, blame some faceless group.

However, I bet you a dime to a dollar that I can come up with more egg-lays than big game wins.

i'm sure you could...you'd have a 6 game head start for this year, and that's just not fair!!!

Heck, I'm not even talking about losses.

I'd bet CPF has more awful egg lays than big wins...period. Of course, that gets awfully subjective trying to determine what is and isn't a big win.

My guess is that when and if he lays anymore eggs, at least after this year, he has one leg out of the henhouse.

I think that he knows the last 7 years of futility are no longer protected under the NC umbrella he is standing under.

I hate to admit it but going from a #3 preseason ranking, with the highest hopes in the nation to beat USC, to finish 5-6, 4th in the SEC east, and not get into a bowl. Let them talk we can hopefully get everything settled and give them the team they expected this year, next year.

We were a big dissapointment this year I'll admit that, but one thing that we say is that at least we didn't get blown out, we were for the most part, competitive against all our opponents. We just somehow lost out on all the breaks this year. At times it did seem like we had a perpetual black cloud following us around in each game. We were really 1 play away from victories against Vandy, SC, and Alabama. That's about the only thing I can find positive to say about this awful season.

However in sports you do make your own luck, and if you don't come in prepared, you're in for a long season.

Hopefully with Cutcliffe on board we can play like we did back in the day.

True. In the past we won lots of close games against BAMA, SC, and Vandy this year we lost them all. The program slipped enough this year that we started losing the close games we previously had won.

That got everyone's attention losing all those games this year. In the past, going to the 4th quarter in the past to beat vandy or sc no one really complained. :twocents:
